ALDIE, VA, October 20, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Margie D. Collins has been recognized by Marquis Who's Who for her professional achievements, entrepreneurial leadership and contributions to information technology, federal contracting and the military community.

With more than 25 years of experience in information technology, Ms. Collins is the founder and chief executive officer of Bridgecross LLC, a federal contracting company she established on July 15, 2012. Together with her husband, Danny Collins, who serves as co-owner, she has grown Bridgecross from a two-person, husband-and-wife operation into an organization employing approximately 28 professionals, delivering information technology and management support services to numerous federal government customers.

Ms. Collins's professional journey is distinguished by military service, technical expertise and a commitment to creating opportunities for others. After graduating from Tougaloo College, she entered military service in 1991, during the period of Operation Desert Storm. She served in both the United States Army Reserve and Army National Guard and is a U.S. military veteran. Her service helped shape the discipline, perseverance and dedication to others that continue to guide her leadership.

Ms. Collins has built an extensive career in enterprise information technology, with experience in both the private and public sectors. She worked as an SAP application programming developer in St. Louis, Missouri, and later as a web developer. She subsequently worked in Virginia's public-sector contracting environment as an SAP BASIS and security administrator. Since 2021, she has also served as an SAP Cyber/BASIS administrator at Bridgecross, maintaining hands-on expertise in enterprise systems administration and cybersecurity.

A key milestone came in 2017, when Bridgecross entered the U.S. Small Business Administration's 8(a) Business Development Program. The move widened the company's access to federal contracting opportunities and laid the foundation for continued growth. As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Woman-Owned Small Business, Bridgecross reflects Ms. Collins's military background and entrepreneurial leadership.

Under Ms. Collins's leadership, Bridgecross has cultivated a workplace culture centered on integrity, collaboration, employee development and customer satisfaction. She believes recognizing employees' individual strengths, encouraging professional growth and fostering a supportive environment are essential to success. She takes particular pride in positive feedback from government customers and employees, viewing their achievements and satisfaction as important measures of the company's performance. Her approach encourages employees to share ideas, collaborate across assignments and take ownership of the quality of work delivered to customers.

Her management approach has been recognized in formal federal contractor performance evaluations, which highlighted responsive communication, proactive issue resolution and adaptability to changing mission priorities. Evaluators noted her hands-on project management, including employee mentoring, individualized training and the use of dashboards to monitor team performance. One evaluation noted that a structured mentoring program reduced new employees' learning curves and the level of government oversight required. Bridgecross was recommended for similar contract requirements in the future. Employee feedback has likewise praised her openness to suggestions, guidance and commitment to helping team members succeed.

As a veteran and military spouse, Ms. Collins has made supporting transitioning service members, veterans and military families an important part of Bridgecross's mission. Under her leadership, the company participates in the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Program and is an employer partner in the Military Spouse Employer Partnership (MSEP), part of the DoW's SpouseWorks initiative. Bridgecross also maintains Virginia Values Veterans (V3) certification and has earned Military Friendly Employer and Military Spouse Friendly Employer recognition. Her commitment to the military community also includes mentorship through American Corporate Partners (ACP) and initiatives supporting wounded warriors.

Feedback from participants illustrates the impact of her mentorship. Eric M., a U.S. Air Force participant in ACP, credited Ms. Collins with guidance on industry networking, business certifications, federal proposal processes and accountability during his career search. He described connections with senior professionals and their industry perspectives as especially valuable to his mentoring experience. Noshlen T., an Army SkillBridge intern, valued hands-on training directly with Ms. Collins, contributing to federal solicitations from beginning to end and learning about contract staffing. Describing Bridgecross as a supportive environment for veterans transitioning to civilian careers, the intern said, "The amount of knowledge I have gained has been immensely valuable!"

Ms. Collins holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems, concentrating in Database Management, Business Intelligence and Security, from Boston University; a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from American Sentinel University; a Master of Arts in Health Care Administration and Management from Webster University; and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Tougaloo College. Her education reflects a longstanding commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.

Bridgecross has earned significant recognition under her leadership. In 2025, the company was named a Growth Accelerator Honoree in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's CO—100: America's Top 100 Small Businesses program, received 2025 Inc. Best Workplaces recognition and became a finalist for the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce's 31st Annual Loudoun Small Business Awards. Washington Business Journal also ranked Bridgecross No. 63 among veteran-owned companies and No. 79 among women-owned businesses that year.

In 2026, Bridgecross ranked No. 666 nationwide on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies, with 515% three-year growth, and No. 33 on the Inc. Regionals: Mid-Atlantic list. It also received Inc. Best Workplaces recognition in the IT Services category, a Quantum Certified Workplace designation, Military Friendly Silver Employer honors and Military Spouse Friendly Employer recognition. Washington Business Journal ranked it No. 35 among the D.C. area's largest cybersecurity companies by local revenue, No. 799 among employers and No. 447 among private companies. Ms. Collins credits these distinctions to the dedication of the entire Bridgecross team.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ms. Collins remains active in civic, educational and charitable initiatives. She mentors veterans and military personnel, volunteers through her church and supports foster children with backpacks and resources for youth activities. She and her husband also served as foster parents and adopted their son, Jacob David Collins, when he was two years old. He now works as a Logistics and Procurement Specialist at Bridgecross. Through the Washington-area alumni chapter of Tougaloo College, she participates in initiatives that help students pursue higher education at her alma mater. Her community service and family experiences reflect her belief in offering practical support and educational opportunities that can make a lasting difference.

Ms. Collins serves as secretary of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc., collaborating with fellow Sorority members and local leaders on entrepreneurship workshops focused on financial literacy, business management, artificial intelligence, career development and nonprofit sustainability. She is also a member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), the National Association of Black Military Women (NABMW) and the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW). These affiliations reflect her commitment to supporting veterans, empowering women and strengthening communities.

Above all, Ms. Collins credits the unwavering support and sacrifices of her husband, a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, who has been instrumental in building Bridgecross alongside her. His contributions to business development, networking, relationship building and day-to-day operations have helped establish the foundation for the company's growth. She also recognizes the dedication of Bridgecross employees and the trust of its customers, mentors and business partners, emphasizing that the company's achievements are shared.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Collins plans to expand Bridgecross's technical capabilities, federal customer relationships and strategic partnerships while strengthening its position as an independent prime contractor. She also hopes to mentor emerging entrepreneurs, particularly veterans, military spouses and small business owners pursuing federal contracting opportunities. She hopes those efforts will help others navigate the challenges of building sustainable businesses and developing rewarding careers. For Ms. Collins, lasting achievement is measured not only by business growth and professional recognition but also by the people she helps, the opportunities she creates and the positive impact she leaves on her community.
