SANDY, UT, October 21, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Terrie Lund has been recognized for achievement in title insurance agency services.
For Terrie Lund, building a successful business has never been simply about transactions, numbers, or the bottom line. It has always been about people, relationships, and creating opportunities for others to succeed. After more than two decades in the title insurance industry, Ms. Lund reached a defining moment in her career when she realized that the company she envisioned—one built on meaningful relationships, education, mentorship, and a genuine commitment to service—was one she would need to create herself.
With the encouragement of her longtime partner, Steve, and the confidence gained from years of industry experience, Ms. Lund took a leap of faith and founded Ohana Title Insurance Agency in 2022. What began as a desire to do business differently has grown into a company that reflects both her professional expertise and her deeply held belief that relationships are the foundation of lasting success.
Today, as founder and chief executive officer, Ms. Lund leads Ohana Title Insurance Agency with the same passion and determination that inspired its creation. With offices in Sandy and Tooele, Utah, the agency provides title insurance and escrow services for residential, commercial, new construction, refinancing, and vacant land transactions. The company also operates its own title plant, allowing its experienced team to conduct title searches in-house while maintaining greater oversight of the process and providing responsive, personalized service.
For Ms. Lund, however, Ohana represents something far greater than a business. Its name reflects the culture she has worked to create: one where employees feel valued, clients feel supported, and relationships extend well beyond the closing table. She believes that while title insurance is the company's product, the people, relationships, and experiences surrounding every transaction are what truly set Ohana apart.
**A Vision That Became a Reality**
The journey to entrepreneurship was shaped by years of experience and a growing belief that the title insurance industry could benefit from a more intentional approach to relationship development. Throughout her career, Ms. Lund recognized that strong client relationships should not be the responsibility of a sales department alone. She believed every employee, from the escrow assistant to the title officer and business development team, played an important role in earning trust, strengthening partnerships, and creating exceptional client experiences.
A pivotal moment came when an escrow officer and office manager at her previous company announced plans to retire. Recognizing an opportunity to preserve established relationships while growing the business, Ms. Lund approached ownership with a proposal to assume responsibility for the existing book of business, manage the office, and lead its continued development.
When she learned the company had already chosen a different direction, the experience provided the clarity she needed. She had spent years helping others grow their businesses, developing relationships, and mentoring professionals. She knew she was ready to bring those experiences together and build something of her own.
The very next day, she registered the name Ohana Title Insurance Agency.
That decision marked the beginning of a new chapter, one rooted not in leaving an industry she loved, but in creating an opportunity to contribute to it in a more meaningful way.
Opening its doors in 2023, Ohana was built around Ms. Lund's belief that a successful title agency should invest as much in its people and relationships as it does in its operations. She envisioned an environment where knowledge is shared, employees are empowered, clients are treated like family, and doing the right thing is never negotiable.
That philosophy continues to shape Ohana's culture and guide its growth today.
**A Career Built on Experience, Trust, and Connection**
Ms. Lund's understanding of the title insurance industry comes from a career that has allowed her to experience nearly every aspect of the business. She began her title insurance career in 2005 as an escrow officer with Hickman Land Title Company, where she developed a strong foundation in real estate transactions and discovered the importance of providing a positive closing experience.
She later joined Equity Title Insurance Agency, which was subsequently acquired by First American Title Insurance Agency. During her nearly decade-long tenure with Equity Title / First American Title, she served in both escrow and sales management roles, expanding her expertise in residential and commercial real estate transactions. Those experiences helped shape her understanding of both the technical side of the industry and the importance of building lasting professional relationships.
Her career continued through leadership positions with Northwest Title Insurance Agency, Sutherland Title Company, and US Title of Utah, where she focused on business development, team leadership, and helping real estate professionals succeed. Along the way, she developed a reputation for her industry knowledge, relationship-building skills, and willingness to share what she had learned with others.
Ms. Lund also served as senior manager of field marketing for Academy Mortgage Corporation, where she worked with loan officers to strengthen their relationships with real estate professionals and develop more effective business development strategies. This experience broadened her understanding of the lending side of real estate and reinforced her belief that successful transactions depend on strong partnerships among all parties involved.
A graduate of Salt Lake Community College, where she earned an associate's degree in finance in 1998, Ms. Lund also brings experience in private banking with Zions Bank. Her background in banking, lending, escrow, title insurance, and business development has given her a well-rounded perspective on the real estate industry and the professionals who serve it.
Throughout her career, Ms. Lund has worked with a diverse range of clients, from first-time homebuyers and luxury homeowners to commercial investors and experienced real estate professionals. She has also participated in affordable housing initiatives through the Tooele County Housing Authority, supporting programs that help individuals and families achieve homeownership through land grants and sweat equity.
These experiences have reinforced a belief that remains central to her work: behind every real estate transaction is a person, a family, a business, or a dream. Whether someone is purchasing their first home, expanding an investment portfolio, or opening the doors to a new business, Ms. Lund believes every transaction deserves the same level of care, attention, and commitment.
**A Commitment to Leadership, Education, and Industry Advocacy**
Beyond building her own business, Ms. Lund has devoted much of her career to strengthening the title insurance and real estate industries through education, advocacy, and professional leadership. She believes that those who benefit from an industry also have a responsibility to contribute to its future.
Her national involvement includes service with the American Land Title Association (ALTA), where she serves on the Education Committee and has participated in the ALTA Best Practices Workgroup. Through these roles, she has contributed her experience and perspective to initiatives focused on professional education, operational excellence, and strengthening industry standards.
Closer to home, Ms. Lund serves as Capitol Region Vice President for the Utah Land Title Association and participates in legislative advocacy efforts supporting Utah's title insurance industry. She has also held numerous leadership positions within the Utah Association of REALTORS®, including serving as chair and vice chair of the State Convention and participating in legislative and educational initiatives.
Her service extends to the National Association of REALTORS®, where she served on the Volunteer Leadership Advisory Board from 2020 to 2022. She has also held leadership positions within the Women's Council of REALTORS® Salt Lake Network, including serving as treasurer and secretary, along with various committee and event leadership roles.
For Ms. Lund, these positions are not simply titles or professional accomplishments. They represent opportunities to collaborate with industry leaders, advocate for responsible business practices, strengthen professional relationships, and help shape the future of an industry she is proud to represent.
As a licensed escrow officer, title officer, and continuing education instructor, Ms. Lund is especially passionate about sharing her knowledge. She believes that education creates confidence, confidence creates opportunity, and opportunity allows individuals to grow into leaders.
That belief is also reflected in her approach to mentoring employees and developing the next generation of title insurance professionals. She recognizes that technical knowledge is essential, but believes communication, integrity, accountability, and relationship development are equally important to long-term success.
Her professional contributions have earned recognition throughout her career, including sales management honors and being named the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS® Affiliate of the Year in 2017. While grateful for these acknowledgments, Ms. Lund considers the trust and lasting relationships she has developed with colleagues, clients, and industry partners to be among her most meaningful achievements.
**Making a Difference Beyond the Closing Table**
Ms. Lund's commitment to service extends beyond her professional responsibilities. She has supported community initiatives, including suicide prevention efforts through the Taylor Hagen Foundation, and has volunteered as a Sunday school teacher at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish.
Her involvement in affordable housing initiatives has also deepened her appreciation for the impact homeownership can have on individuals and families. She understands that a home represents far more than a financial investment. It provides stability, creates opportunities, strengthens communities, and offers a place where families can build their futures.
Whether through community service, professional education, or simply being available to offer guidance when someone needs it, Ms. Lund believes that making a difference often begins with showing up, listening, and being willing to help.
That same philosophy carries into her personal life. Having raised three children while building her career, Ms. Lund understands the importance of balancing professional ambition with family, relationships, and the moments that matter most. She enjoys traveling and spending time with Steve, her family, and longtime friends, and values the memories and experiences they create together.
**Building a Legacy for the Next Generation**
As she looks toward the future, Ms. Lund is focused on building Ohana Title Insurance Agency into a lasting legacy, one that reflects the values and relationships that have defined her career. With her daughter working alongside her, the business holds an especially meaningful place in her heart, representing not only what she has accomplished, but what she hopes to pass on to future generations.
Her vision includes thoughtful expansion throughout Utah, continued investment in her employees, and creating opportunities for emerging professionals to develop the knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills necessary to succeed.
As a business owner, Ms. Lund remains actively involved in mentoring her team, strengthening client relationships, guiding the company's growth, and maintaining the culture that inspired Ohana's creation. She believes that the greatest responsibility of a leader is not simply to build a successful business, but to develop people who can carry its values and vision forward.
She is equally committed to creating greater awareness of the career opportunities available within the title insurance industry. Having experienced firsthand the many paths the profession can offer, she hopes to inspire others to recognize its potential for meaningful, rewarding careers.
For Ms. Lund, success has never been solely about revenue, transactions, or professional recognition. It is about building something meaningful, creating opportunities for others, and leaving the people and communities she serves better than she found them.
Her philosophy remains simple: **Take care of people, build relationships that last, and never underestimate the difference you can make in someone's journey.**
Through Ohana Title Insurance Agency, Ms. Lund continues to bring that philosophy to life — one relationship, one opportunity, and one closing at a time.
