FREDERICKSBURG, VA, October 21, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anneshia Miller Grant, Esq., has been recognized for achievement in law.
Ms. Miller Grant has established herself as a leading figure in complex family law litigation, military divorce, and intricate custody cases over a 17-year career. Since founding AMG LAW PLC, she has served as owner and principal attorney, overseeing complex litigation matters, mentoring associates on litigation strategies and managing the firm's business operations. Her expertise is widely recognized, particularly in handling high-stakes family law disputes and advocating for clients in challenging circumstances.
Prior to establishing her own practice, Ms. Miller Grant worked as an attorney practicing exclusively family law, guardian ad litem and court-appointed work in over 20 jurisdictions in Virginia, including Hampton Roads, Fredericksburg, and Northern Virginia. In that capacity, she represented clients in sensitive family law matters, military families and provided legal guidance for children and vulnerable individuals involved in court proceedings. Her experience in these roles laid the foundation for her later achievements and informed her approach to client advocacy.
Among her most significant professional accomplishments is her successful appeal of a same sex rights case to the Supreme Court of Virginia, a milestone that underscores her commitment to advancing equality within the legal system. Additionally, Ms. Miller Grant has achieved notable results in securing equal custody time for fathers in a series of fathers' rights cases, reflecting her growing focus on this area of family law. Her dedication to expanding access to legal services for underrepresented populations is further demonstrated by her ongoing efforts to support minorities, domestic violence victims, and women within the legal profession.
Ms. Miller Grant earned a Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law in 2009 while raising three children and working full-time. She previously earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government from Fayetteville State University in 2001, graduating magna cum laude. Admitted to the Virginia State Bar, she credits her success to building a robust network of colleagues— including judges and fellow lady lawyers — whose insights have been instrumental in shaping her legal acumen. These professional relationships have contributed significantly to her growth as an attorney.
Her decision to pursue a career in law was motivated by a desire to advocate meaningfully for clients, especially people who look like her, and effect positive change in their lives. Recognizing the need for greater autonomy to best serve those she represents, Ms. Miller Grant founded her own practice to align her work with her values while balancing professional commitments with family responsibilities.
Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Miller Grant is deeply engaged with civic initiatives. She volunteers her time and resources at local domestic violence shelters, choosing not to disclose specific organizations out of respect for confidentiality. As a mentor, she is passionate about supporting women attorneys from minority backgrounds — including Black, brown and LBTQ+ women— recognizing their underrepresentation within the legal field. Her mentorship aims to foster greater diversity and inclusion across the profession.
Ms. Miller Grant's achievements have been recognized through numerous awards and honors. She has been named among the Best Lawyers in America by Best Lawyers for 2025 to 2027, Top 100 National Black Lawyer by National Black Lawyers for 2026 and 2027, Top 10 Family Law Attorneys in Virginia by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys and was featured in Northern Virginia magazines as a Woman Making A Mark for 2026.
