FARGO, ND, October 22, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Priscila Janjua, Esq., has been recognized for achievement in law.
Ms. Janjua's distinguished career in law is marked by a steady progression through increasingly responsible roles and a demonstrated commitment to family and immigration law. Since 2023, she has served as an associate attorney at SW&L Attorneys in Fargo, where her experience in family law and immigration law has been recognized. She initially joined SW&L Attorneys as a law clerk in 2022, gaining firsthand experience with the firm's clients and legal processes before advancing to her current position.
Prior to her tenure at SW&L Attorneys, Ms. Janjua worked as a law clerk at Coleman Family Law from 2021 to 2022. In this role, she developed her understanding of family law while supporting attorneys and assisting with case preparation. Her legal journey also includes a summer legal externship in 2020 with the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota – Federal Court, where she gained valuable exposure to federal legal proceedings and judicial operations.
Ms. Janjua's introduction to the legal profession began in Canada, where she worked as a legal assistant at Peter Gwyn Law Office in Winnipeg from 2015 to 2016. This early experience sparked her interest in law and provided foundational knowledge that would inform her later pursuits.
In addition to her legal work, Ms. Janjua has held the role of office supervisor at L.A. Dance Academy from 2011 to 2023. Her background managing operations at the academy further shaped her client-focused philosophy by teaching her how to navigate diverse personalities and family dynamics under pressure. The skills acquired there — multitasking, communication, and customer service — have become integral to her legal work, particularly when guiding clients through emotionally charged family law matters.
Ms. Janjua's professional affiliations reflect both leadership and active engagement within the legal community. She currently serves as president of the Cass County Bar Association, having previously held the positions of vice president and secretary/treasurer. She is a member of the North Dakota Collaborative Divorce Group, American Inns of Court in Fargo, and serves on the board of the Ronald N. Davies American Inn of Court as membership chair and recruitment team member.
Additionally, Ms. Janjua holds memberships in the Minnesota State Bar Association, the State Bar Association of North Dakota — including its Family Law and Women Lawyers Sections — and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. During law school, she served as a 3L representative for the Student Bar Association, deputy prime minister of the Canadian Law Students Society and head student ambassador for Barbri Bar Prep. She also served as president and Helen Hamilton Day coordinator for the Law Women's Caucus.
Ms. Janjua's academic achievements have played a pivotal role in shaping her success. She earned a Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2022 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in social sciences with a minor in Spanish from the University of Manitoba. Furthering her qualifications, she obtained a Spanish for Legal Professionals Certificate from SMU Continuing & Professional Education in 2023.
Ms. Janjua's professional credentials reflect her commitment to the practice of law, with admissions to practice in North Dakota and Minnesota, as well as before the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota.
Throughout her career, Ms. Janjua has attributed her achievements to maintaining a personal connection with clients and emphasizing empathy within her practice. Her approach is informed by firsthand experience interpreting legal matters for family members whose primary language was Spanish, a responsibility that began in her teens when she helped relatives navigate complex custody issues. These formative experiences highlighted for Ms. Janjua the profound impact that effective legal representation can have on families and children.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ms. Janjua supports the Jeremiah Program and mentors students at the University of North Dakota School of Law. Her volunteer work includes fundraising for the Manitoba Chilean Association & Cultural Centre Inc. and participating in service efforts with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fargo, Feed My Starving Children FargoPack, GiGi's Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Centers Inc., Bio Girls, New Life Center, and Churches United.
Ms. Janjua's accomplishments have earned her numerous awards. In 2026, Super Lawyers named her a Rising Star, an honor it had given her in the Great Plains region the year before. As a law student, she received the University of North Dakota's Outstanding Law Student Leader Award and the Lillian Elsinga Outstanding Student Leader Award in 2022, and she was a finalist for the Carrigan Cup that same year. She also earned High Grade Awards in trial advocacy in 2021 and immigration law in 2022, along with multiple scholarships from the Law Women's Caucus.
In addition, Ms. Janjua has contributed to the profession through her writing. In 2025, Fargo INC! published her guide "Divorce in North Dakota: Your Essential Guide." The magazine also ran two of her articles in 2024, "Building Bridges: The Benefits of Collaborative Divorce in North Dakota" and "Navigating Family Dynamics: Nonparent Rights in North Dakota." Her article "Transforming Divorce in North Dakota: The Power of a Collaborative Approach" appeared in The Gavel.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ms. Janjua comes from a family whose roots trace back to Santiago, Chile, a heritage that informs both her worldview and professional mission. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys soccer, spin classes, and pickleball, and remains actively involved in community events throughout the Fargo-Moorhead area. She also takes pride in supporting her husband, Saad Janjua, whose dedication to the local community mirrors her own.
Looking ahead, Ms. Janjua is committed to expanding her immigration practice in North Dakota while providing vital support to local students pursuing careers in law. By fostering opportunities for aspiring professionals from diverse backgrounds, she aims to strengthen both the legal community and broader society through advocacy, mentorship, and dedicated service.
