MEMPHIS, TN, October 28, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peet Strydom, founder and Executive Director of The Liquid Legacy, has been recognized by Marquis Who's Who for his contributions to faith-based leadership, education, and the nonprofit sector.
Originally from South Africa, Mr. Strydom established The Liquid Legacy in 2018. What began with a desire to provide safe drinking water to communities in Peru has grown into an organization supporting clean water initiatives, medical missions, and community development projects in both Peru and The Bahamas.
One of The Liquid Legacy's most significant accomplishments is its safe water program in Peru, which has now provided more than 42 million servings of safe drinking water. The organization's commitment goes beyond installing water filtration systems, with ongoing maintenance and support helping ensure communities continue to benefit from reliable access to clean water.
Medical missions have also become an important part of its work, ranging from general medical care in remote communities of Peru to specialized surgical campaigns in both Peru and Abaco, Bahamas. These services are offered entirely free of charge, providing patients with medical care that might otherwise be unavailable to them or beyond their reach. Alongside these efforts, The Liquid Legacy works with local churches and community organizations to support projects that address practical needs and encourage long-term sustainability.
Following Hurricane Dorian in 2019, The Liquid Legacy expanded its work to Abaco, Bahamas, in 2020. Mr. Strydom's involvement in Abaco continued to grow, and in January 2025, he took on the additional role of Executive Director of Abaco Strong, a nonprofit focused on building stronger, healthier, and more sustainable communities throughout the Abacos. He recognized an opportunity to contribute and volunteered to take on the position — a role he continues to serve in alongside his responsibilities with The Liquid Legacy.
A defining feature of Mr. Strydom's approach to nonprofit leadership is his belief in being personally involved in the work. The Liquid Legacy operates with a small but dedicated team, supported by individual donors, volunteers, and local partners. Its board members are actively engaged in service trips and projects, contributing their time, skills, and resources rather than simply providing oversight.
Before founding The Liquid Legacy, Mr. Strydom spent much of his career in Christian education and ministry. He served as Vice President of Student Development at Visible Music College in Memphis from 2003 to 2013, following earlier roles in higher education and consulting at Trinity College of Florida and Christian Education Network. He also worked in the financial services industry before joining the staff of Highpoint Church in Memphis, where he served as Missions Pastor and Care Ministry Pastor from 2014 to 2018.
It was during his time at Highpoint Church that Mr. Strydom first traveled to Peru and became involved in safe water projects. That experience ultimately led him to establish The Liquid Legacy, bringing together his background in education, ministry, and leadership with a growing passion for practical, hands-on service.
Mr. Strydom holds a master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University Seminary and a bachelor's degree in biblical studies, with an emphasis in Christian Counseling, from Trinity College of Florida.
