NATCHEZ, MS, November 05, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael Eben Bee has been recognized for achievement in forestry.

Mr. Bee has built a distinguished career in forestry and conservation, most recently as partner conservationist and forester at Foresight Conservation in Louisiana, beginning in 2022. In this role, he guides landowners through wetland restoration applications with the Natural Resources Conservation Service; assesses soil types, ground cover, and elevation using geographic information systems; maps habitats for threatened and endangered species; develops wetland reserve plans; and establishes perpetual conservation easements. He also assesses existing wetland reserve easements for timber stand improvement and prepares forest management plans that enhance biodiversity, wildlife habitat and timber structure. Through his work with Foresight Conservation, Mr. Bee has played a pivotal role in restoring more than 12,000 acres of wetlands across the Mississippi Alluvial Valley, directly benefiting species such as the whooping crane and the Louisiana black bear.

Among his most notable achievements is a wetland restoration project completed for a farmer seeking to transition away from agriculture. Mr. Bee oversaw every stage of this initiative, from application and survey through design, implementation and planting. The property's degraded wetlands were transformed into an exemplary wetland reserve easement featuring tree plantings and shallow water areas for migrating waterfowl. Today, the trees have reached approximately five feet in height, the shallow water area functions effectively for wildlife and the landowner has expressed great satisfaction with the outcome.

Prior to joining Foresight Conservation, Mr. Bee owned and operated Southern Forest Management Services in Lafayette, Louisiana, from 2014 to 2022. In this role, he provided forestry consulting services to private landowners and organizations throughout the region. Additionally, from 2015 to 2019, he served as a contract forester with Peters Forest Resources Incorporated and Templin Forestry Inc., where he contributed to various forestry projects focused on sustainable land management practices. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bee gained hands-on experience as a lumber mill employee, which gave him foundational knowledge of timber processing and the forest products industry.

Throughout his professional journey, Mr. Bee has developed expertise in forestry, wetland restoration, conservation easements, geographic information systems and timber stand improvement. His commitment to these disciplines has earned him membership in prominent industry organizations, including the Association of Consulting Foresters and the Louisiana Forestry Association.

Mr. Bee earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Studies, magna cum laude, from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2014. He also holds an Associate of Applied Science in Forestry from Louisiana Technical College's Oakdale Campus, completed in 2009. His education has shaped his approach to conservation and sustainable land management.

In addition to his degrees, Mr. Bee holds several professional certifications that have furthered his expertise. He completed Agronomy Essentials coursework through Purdue University in 2022 and earned the master logger certification from the Louisiana Forestry Association in 2015. He is also certified in wetland delineation—a credential that supports his work developing effective conservation strategies.

Mentors and colleagues have been central to Mr. Bee's success. He credits his college professors and especially Howard Jones—forester for his family's property in Natchez and vice president of J.M. Jones Lumber Company—for inspiring his passion for forestry and demonstrating how land can be managed for both timber production and wildlife habitat. The collaborative spirit of his team at Foresight Conservation continues to influence his growth as a conservation professional.

Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Bee is actively involved in civic initiatives including volunteering at summer church camps and participating in Operation Christmas Child projects. These activities reflect his dedication to service within his community.

Born in Lafayette, Mr. Bee resides in Natchez, Mississippi, while working primarily across the river in Louisiana's Mississippi Alluvial Valley. He enjoys spending time with his daughter—who shares his love of dance—as well as fishing, hunting, playing golf, and reading forestry science and devotionals. He is particularly proud that his father is also listed in Who's Who in America; he looks forward to displaying his own plaque beside his father's as a testament to their shared legacy.

Looking ahead, Mr. Bee plans to expand his impact by lobbying for conservation easements and restoration programs at the national level while continuing design and implementation work in forestry. He also hopes to return to wetland delineation and archaeological resource projects while working full-time with Foresight Conservation and traveling throughout the country to promote conservation practices for future generations.

Mr. Bee's middle name honors his great-grandfather Eben—a name inspired by the biblical Ebenezer stone—reflecting a deep respect for heritage that informs both his personal values and professional pursuits.
