Shannon Boothe Brewer Named a Member of Cambridge Who's Who

Mrs. Brewer was honored by the Council on Quality Care with the title of World's Greatest Nurse.

/24-7PressRelease/ - West Monroe, LA, June 21, 2008, Shannon Boothe Brewer, RN, EMT-P and Clinical Coordinator for the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Monroe, will be included as a member in the 2008-2009 edition of the Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry for excellence in nursing.

Mrs. Brewer became involved in her profession because she was inspired by a compassionate and dedicated nurse who took care of her grandmother before she lost her battle to lung cancer. She brings to the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center 12 years of professional experience, which include work in the emergency room, medical and surgical intensive care units, telemetry, home health and psychiatric nursing. As RN clinical coordinator, she is responsible for performance improvement and quality assurance. Her regular duties include developing written criteria, recommending changes in clinical practice, writing policies and procedures, advising on new standards, ensuring the education level of nurses are high and advocating for patients. In addition to these, Mrs. Brewer performs house manager duties on a part-time basis. She looks forward to furthering her education and pursuing her Master's Degree.

In 1996, Mrs. Brewer obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alcorn State University, where she was a constant honor student. A Licensed Paramedic, she has certifications in Basic Disaster Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter Line Placement using micro-introducer and ultrasound technique. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, and was honored by the Council on Quality Care with the title of World's Greatest Nurse.
