/24-7PressRelease/ - Roanoke, VA, July 2, 2008, Barbara W. Metz, who has recently retired as a Registered Nurse from Carilion Clinic, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of nursing.

Ms. Metz has enjoyed a fruitful 24-year career in nursing. As an RN, she was responsible for caring for patients, training nurses in CPR procedures, and assisting doctors in outpatient and medical surgeries. In addition to her work for Carilion Clinic, she volunteered her services as a parish nurse and raised funds for children and clinics in South Africa. To this day, she actively supports 16 orphans in that country.

Also a Registered Nurse preceptor, Ms. Metz earned her Associate's Degree in Nursing from Jefferson College of Health Science in 1994. A recipient of the Woman of the Year Award, she attributes her success to her determination and passion for her profession. Though officially retired, she looks forward to making a difference in the lives of more people by serving her community.
