Performance enhanced on leading electronic identity check system

Tracesmart upgrade Smart ID Plus storage capacity

/24-7PressRelease/ - CARDIFF, WALES, August 24, 2008 - Tracesmart, renowned for helping companies to combat fraud, have announced that this week the systems behind their electronic identity (e-id) tool, Smart ID Plus, have been optimised to enhance user performance.

Smart ID Plus is used by a wide range of companies, from legal to finance sectors, to electronically conduct identity checks. Other than the datasets it interrogates, one of the systems key features is report storage - as those affected by the current anti-money laundering (AML) legislation are legally required to keep a five year record of identity checks. Whilst Smart ID Plus provides clients with the option to print or save their identity check reports locally it also automatically stores them in the systems secure servers. Reports are stored for 5 years from the original search date, ensuring that clients can refer back to them via the system. With thousands of identity checks being carried out every week the amount of storage space required for reports could be large and potentially effect system performance, but the Tracesmart technical team continually work to ensure that this is not the case.

To improve performance Tracesmart's IT team, lead by Paul Weathersby, Technical Director for Tracesmart, have compressed the stored report data to 5% of its original memory size. Commenting on the compression exercise Weathersby commented, My team and I reduced the amount of memory the Smart ID Plus reports take up not only to free up internal resources, but also to enhance the end user experience. The memory augmentation means our clients can now retrieve reports faster and will experience increased system-wide performance. This of course has not affected the content of reports in anyway and clients can rest assured that they will receive exactly the same information as previously."

The Tracesmart IT team continually work to enhance their service offerings; this ensures that not only are client expectations met but surpassed. Speaking from the firm's Cardiff HQ Michael Trezise, Managing Director at Tracesmabrt, highlights the importance of his technical team, "Thanks to the hard work of Paul and his team our clients can now enjoy superior system performance with the same high level of service and functionality that they are accustomed to. As a company we constantly strive to improve our systems in order to maintain customer satisfaction. However these improvements would not be possible without the work of Paul and his team - they are a great asset to the company."
