Norwood, Director of Physical and Chemical Analysis at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of pharmaceutical research and development.

With more than 32 years of professional experience, Dr. Norwood specializes in pharmaceutical development, analytical and organic chemistry, mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. He became involved in his profession because of the experience he gained in the fields of environmental chemistry and biomedical analysis. Dr. Norwood is a recipient of the President's Award in 2007 and the Team Spirit Award in 2005 from Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., the CEO's Award from GlaxoSmithKline in 1994, the Academic Achievement Award from the American Water Works Association in 1987 and a Graduate Student Award from the American Chemical Society in 1986. He attributes his success to his technical focus and his broad experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Norwood received his Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry and his Master's Degree in Environmental Chemistry from the University of North Carolina. He also received his Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He was Chair of the North Carolina Section of the American Chemical Society from 1996 to 1997, he was also elected member of Phi Eta Sigma, the Phi Sigma Biological Sciences Honor Society, Phi Lambda Upsilon National Honorary Chemical Society. He is a member of the American Chemical Society with 30 years of service.
