/24-7PressRelease/ - Kenvil, NJ, Septemeber 17, 2008, Paul W. Crotty, Owner of Country Piano Shop, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of piano playing.

Mr. Crotty is a Renaissance man in the truest sense of the phrase...under the classic description it is a man who is in a position to acquire more than superficial knowledge about many different interests...a person who excels in multiple fields, particularly in both arts and sciences. During his life Paul has been a world-class athlete (pitching a "no-hitter"), a warrior (serving as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps from 1953 through 1957), an inventor, poet and as his recordings display, a gifted composer and musician.

A child prodigy from the Morristown, NJ area, Paul's first brush with musical fame came when he was selected by the US Marine Corps to perform for President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Secretary of State John Foster Dulles at a private party in Virginia. That performance and meeting with "Ike" inspired Mr. Crotty to continue with his music as a career following his military service. Over the next 40 years, he performed and composed music and supplemented his craft by tuning and restoring pianos for some of the greatest musicians of all time such as Teddy Wilson, Nina Simone, Gene Kruppa, Count Basie, Victor Borge, and Duke Ellington—the list goes on and on.

With more than 53 years of professional experience, Mr. Crotty is truly an accomplished arranger, composer and songwriter. A previous employee of the Baldwin Piano Company, he is a professional piano tuner. He completed coursework in harmony and theory at the Navy School of Music in 1956 and is a former member of the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of Broadcast Music, Inc.

Mr. Crotty's recordings focus on a consistent theme in all of his work, romance and love. A blend of original compositions and carefully selected standards presents Mr. Crotty's virtuoso piano in a light that reminds us of much simpler and more romantic times when wonderful melodies and impassioned performances dominated the bandstand.
