HAMDEN, CT, September 27, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William F. Hennessy, Director and Department Chairman of Quinnipiac University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of higher education.

With 31 years of professional experience, Mr. Hennessy specializes in instructing diagnostic imaging, trauma radiographic and orthopedic radiology procedures. As director and department chairman, he is responsible for lecturing, advising students, strategic planning and mentoring junior faculty. He became involved in his profession because he developed an interest toward radiology after undergoing treatments for his congenital hip dysplasia. Mr. Hennessy is a recipient of the 2005 Gail Pitkin Memorial Lecturer, presented by the Connecticut Society of Radiologic Technologists, for excellence in teaching to the professional community. He has also been nominated numerous times for "Excellence Teaching and Service to Students" at Quinnipiac University. He attributes his success to his hard work, love for his profession and desire to share his knowledge with others.

Mr. Hennessy received his Master of Health Science from Quinnipiac University in 1999 and supports the Tomorrows Children's Fund. He is a member of the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals, the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and the Connecticut Society of Radiologic Technologists. Mr. Hennessy is a frequently requested guest lecturer by many radiologic technology societies in New England and New Jersey. He is currently working on a strategic plan for the university in developing education with an imaging suite that will include equipment for magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and nuclear medicine, and he is looking forward to implementing the program in the future.
