TOMBALL, TX, October 9, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Larry Howell Williams, Deputy Administrator and Commander with the Houston Police Department, has been recognized as a VIP Member by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of law enforcement.

Mr. Williams has 35 impressive years of professional experience in law enforcement. In his current position with the Houston Police Department, he specializes in audio, visual and photographic forensics. He is responsible for converting photographs into digital images as well as supervising three forensic laboratories including acquisitions, budgeting and grant funding. Mr. Williams is the proud creator of the first forensic laboratory in Texas and was featured in the Texas Journal of Forensic Analysts. He considers having an outstanding success rate for his investigations and prosecutions to be the most rewarding aspect of his career. Mr. Williams notes that his most rewarding personal accomplishment was leading the Houston Gunners Football Team of the Emergency Services League to their first national championship in 1991.

A certified forensic audio analyst, Mr. Williams completed training in forensic studies at the Federal Bureau of Investigations and coursework in forensic audio and media at the University of Houston. He is a fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners and is a member of the Intelligence Group of the Texas Gulf Coast Region, the Law Enforcement Emergency Services Video Association, the Joint Terrorism Task Force, and the International Association for Identification.
