Forensic and Counter-Narcoterrorism Specialist at The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College
BROWNSVILLE, TX, October 25, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael A. Lytle, Assistant Professor at The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Forensic Science. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
With more than 31 years of professional experience, Mr. Lytle specializes in forensic science and counter-narcoterrorism. In addition, he excels in communications, command, control and intelligence, overseeing law enforcement, and consulting for government organizations. A multiple award winner during his tenure in the Army, Mr. Lytle received the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He also received the Meritorious Service Medal with second oak leaf cluster, the Joint Service Commendation Medal and the Commendation Medal with fourth oak leaf cluster.
Aside from his work at the University of Texas at Brownsville, Mr. Lytle serves as a crime scene investigator and forensic examiner. He is a noted forensic educator, having founded the successful forensic science program at Marymount University. He has been designated as a distinguished alumnus of Sam Houston State University where the Academic Prize in Forensic Science is named after him—LTC Michael A. Lytle '77.
A certified medical investigator, Mr. Lytle received a Master of Education with a concentration in college teaching from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Studies from Indiana University. He is pursuing his Doctoral Degree at Texas A&M University. He received a certificate in law enforcement from Sam Houston State University, a certificate in forensic nursing from the University of California, Riverside and diplomas from the National Defense University and the United States Army Command and General Staff College. He is a fellow with the American College of Forensic Examiners and is a member of the Forensic Science Society, the International Association of Forensic Nurses, the International Association for Identification, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts, and Sigma Xi.
