ELIZABETH, NJ, November 5, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nurka L. Nieves, Ed.S., Former Supervisor of Bilingual/ESL and World Languages for an urban school district, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

Ms. Nieves has a strong background in educational leadership. In addition to her experience as a Bilingual/ESL and World Languages Supervisor, she also worked as Vice Principal of a school board and as a Teacher of Advanced Science and Biology at the high school level. She is practiced in the areas of administrative oversight, developmental staff orientation, standardized test score analysis, and lesson plan examination and review.

Ms. Nieves earned her Educational Specialist Degree and is working towards her Doctoral Degree in Bilingual and Bicultural Studies at Seton Hall University. She holds a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from Saint Peter's College and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and Pre-Medical Studies from Rutgers University. She is affiliated with the National Fellowship Foundation, the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, the National Association for Bilingual Education and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

With 10 solid years of professional experience behind her, Ms. Nieves finds deep personal satisfaction in knowing that she has overcome adversity to build a successful career for herself as an Educational Specialist. She considers being inducted into Kappa Delta Phi to be the highlight of her career thus far and hopes to teach at the college level in the future.
