PORTSMOUTH, VA, November 7, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Sandra Bolanos, Resident Physician at Portsmouth Family Medicine of Eastern Virginia Medical School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of healthcare.

A respected scientist and diagnostician, Dr. Bolanos received her MD from the University of Texas Southwestern in 2007 and her Ph.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2003. As a medical practitioner, she places the highest emphasis on compassionate care and the holistic treatment of a patient's body, mind and spirit. She attributes her success to the training she received from her mentors and to her knowledge of the latest technology and therapies.

Dr. Bolanos is affiliated with the Medical Society of Virginia and the American Medical Association, and counts Goodwill Industries International among her favorite charities. In addition to her work for the hospital, she counsels and educates people on issues related to healthcare. In her spare time, she enjoys jogging, traveling, listening to music, watching basketball, and spending time at the beach with her husband and three-year-old daughter. Upon completion of her residency training, she plans to focus her medical career on adult medicine and women's healthcare.
