MINNEAPOLIS, MN, November 23, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Gail H. Coffler, Retired Professor of English at Suffolk University, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of higher education: teaching, service to academic life and scholarship.
With more than 30 years of professional experience as an educator, Dr. Coffler devoted 21 years of her career to teaching at Suffolk University in Boston. Prior to her retirement, she was responsible for meeting with students, publishing, and teaching American literature and interdisciplinary courses. She was a professor at the University of Kansas in Lawrence from 1982 to 1985, Stuttgart University in Germany from 1981 to 1982 and the University of Wisconsin in Madison from 1975 to 1981.
Dr. Coffler became involved in her profession because of her love of literature. She attributes her success to her determination to succeed and to the support she receives from her children and her husband, Walter Bezanson. She received her Ph.D. in English from the University of Wisconsin in 1981. She is a past president of the Herman Melville Society and a Life Member of the Modern Language Association.
