Woodstove Leader Thinking Green* in Scandinavian Style

Morso Mission: With everything we do- from manufacture to delivery- we consider our environment and new ways in which we can further carry out recycling, conservation, and sustainable practices.

PORTLAND, TN, December 02, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Danish manufacturer Morso has been at the cutting-edge of modern woodstove design for over 155 years. Its reputation for high-efficiency, Scandinavian designed cast-iron stoves is world class, as is its "thinking-green" core that continues to handcraft high-quality cast iron products using 98% recycled material, surpasses strict environmental standards, while advocating new ways to improve efficiencies with conservation-driven actions.

"All Morso stoves have an advanced wood-burning system that when used as directed is among the most environmentally-sound heating solutions," notes Morso US President Craig Shankster. "We are committed to demonstrating our "thinking-green" values that support recycling, clean-burning technology, and company-wide conservation practices."

Morso produces some of the most energy efficient, clean burning stoves in the world. Our stoves meet; even surpass the strictest environmental standards in the world, including EPA and Norwegian Standard NS 3058/3059 for the lowest particulate emissions.

Morso's dedication to a cleaner environment was recognized in 2007 when 21 stoves- almost the entire Morso product line in Europe- was awarded the Nordic Swan Eco-label. Introduced by the Nordic Council of Ministers this public environmental certification required low particle emissions and high efficiency, and recognizes companies that are actively reducing their 'environmental footprint' in terms of production practices and packaging. In short, having the Nordic Swan Eco-label shows Morsø's continued commitment for a cleaner, greener planet.

Using a wood-burning Morso stove is a positive fuel choice. Wood is a plentiful, renewable, non-fossil natural product and when used as fuel it is in effect 'carbon-neutral' meaning that the CO2 released when burning is being absorbed by the tree that has been replanted; in fact the same level of CO2 would have been emitted by a tree that had been left to rot naturally on the forest floor.
