NEW YORK, NY, December 10, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Albert Culmer, Volunteer for the American Red Cross, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of volunteering.
A diesel mechanic by trade, Mr. Culmer has given countless hours of service to the American Red Cross for the past seven years. He assists the American Red Cross in promoting its mission by spending much of his time speaking to corporate, civic and community groups about their invaluable programs and services. He teaches disaster preparedness classes, coordinates first aid station volunteers at city events, participates in CPR Saturday and AIDS walks, and hosts volunteer recognition events. Mr. Culmer is a media spokesperson for the American Red Cross and his dedication to the organization knows no limits as his efforts are an outstanding example of volunteer dedication, commitment and compassion for the lives of others. He helped in raising funds for flood relief in Mozambique and played an important role+ in the Flood Force project designed to help people in South Georgia affected by massive flooding in 1994.
Mr. Culmer serves as a member of the Fulton Service Center's Disaster Action Team, a group of volunteers providing 24-hour emergency assistance that includes arranging for shelter, clothing and food for victims of disaster. For his outstanding volunteer efforts, Mr. Culmer was honored with the Martin Luther King Award, the Jefferson Award, the 11Alive's Community Service Award, and the JC Penny Golden Rule Award. He credits his success to his interpersonal and organizational skills, faith in God and to the support he receives from his family. He completed coursework at the U.S. Department of Labor and the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.
