WARRENSBURG, IL, December 17, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nancy K. Graven, Teacher at Warrensburg-Latham School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.
With 22 years of professional experience as a teacher, Ms. Graven's expertise lies in preparing students for their academic lives. She is responsible for teaching reading, writing and mathematics to kindergarten students and is one of the first teachers in the county to bring agriculture into the classroom. In addition to her duties at Warrensburg-Latham School, she has written grants for the State of Illinois. Her passion for working with children inspired her to become involved in her profession and she considers her work ethic to be the key to her success. Ms. Graven takes pride in having her students come back to tell her that college is less challenging than high school, which is due to the phenomenal preparation Warrensburg-Latham school district offers its students prior to entering higher education.
Ms. Graven received her Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Southern Illinois University in 1989, her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Illinois in 1986 and is pursuing a certificate of teaching mastery. She is the treasurer of the Parent-Teacher Organization and sits on the board of the Congregational Church.
