CORUNNA, MI, January 28, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sharon Peters, Assistant Director of Nursing at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of psychiatric nursing.

A registered nurse, Ms. Peters has 16 years of professional experience in healthcare. At her current post, she excels in psychiatric nursing, telemetry, pediatrics, medical surgical services, geriatrics, infection control, and in-service training. Her responsibilities include managing the department of infection control and in-service education, overseeing audit accident reports and administrative duties, caring for patients, managing assessments, attending emergency calls, training employees, and conducting skill tests. She notes that she became involved in her profession because of an innate desire to become a nurse and considers helping others to be the most gratifying aspect of her career.

Hard work and dedication are the keys to Ms. Peters' success. She received her Master's Degree in Teaching, with an emphasis on Learning Disabilities and Behavior Disorders and her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Saginaw Valley State University in 1995 and 1990 respectively. She is pursuing certification in lead management and is an avid supporter of the March of Dimes, Feed the Children, the Association of Administrative Law Judges, and the Alliance Defense Fund.
