Indianapolis, IN, February 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- DaJuan M. Major, Principal for Indianapolis Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.
Mr. Major has seven years of experience in education, with the last five of these years spent with Indianapolis Public Schools. An authority on special and elementary education, he is in charge of overseeing school administration and supervising 325 students from kindergarten to the sixth grade. Prior to taking on his current position, Mr. Major served as assistant principal at William McKinley Elementary School, as a program instructor at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, and as a teacher and mentor program coordinator at George Buck Elementary School. A graduate of Butler University, Mr. Major received his Master of Science in Administration in 2006 and completed the Leadership Identification and Development Program. He was the chairman of the "Know News" Committee and co-chairman of the "Challenge Education" Committee for Butler University, and is an active supporter of the Indianapolis Public Schools Education Foundation. Additionally, he sat on the advisory board for recruiting African-American educators. Mr. Major participated in the "Drop Everything and Read" program at Cold Spring Academy of Indianapolis and worked one-on-one with an autistic child at Harrison Hill Elementary School. He aspires to become the best life-long learner possible.
