Happy Vacations Launches Honeymoon Registry Specialist Certification Program For Travel Agents

After successfully rolling out its innovative Happy Honeymoon Registry website, fast-growing Happy Vacations announces the launch of its new Honeymoon Registry Specialist Program.

PORTLAND, OR, February 28, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Happy Vacations' unique honeymoon registry service meets the needs of a growing segment of the population - couples who seek non-traditional wedding gifts and the travel agents seeking innovative tools to help sell travel and honeymoon packages.

Happy Vacations is the first travel wholesaler to offer a honeymoon registry, providing a unique and powerful sales tool for travel agents who book honeymoon packages. "We have received an overwhelming positive response from travel agents to our honeymoon registry program," says Nancy Williams, Managing Director of Happy's Honeymoon Registry Division. "Travel agents use the honeymoon registry as a sales tool and prefer the option of keeping both the travel package and the honeymoon registry with Happy Vacations," adds Williams.

The Happy Honeymoon Registry Specialist Program was created for travel agents to gain a better understanding of how the registry program works, from both a sales and marketing perspective as well as how it works from the bride and groom's perspective. Agents become "registry specialists" by attending a Webinar, completing a self-study guide with an exam and by creating their own "practice" honeymoon registry.

By becoming Happy Honeymoon Registry Specialists, agents earn a bonus commission of 1% on all Happy Vacations packages that also use the Happy Honeymoon Registry. "Rather than tying their bonus commission to the gift registry sales, we wanted to reward our agents by guaranteeing a set percentage tied to the Happy Vacations package they booked for their honeymooners and not the success of their client's registry itself," Williams adds.

As a Happy Honeymoon Registry Specialist, a travel agent will now be able to offer their expertise to wedding couples booking their honeymoon travel as well as the Happy Honeymoon Registry to fund their honeymoon experiences.

Agents who are interested in becoming specialists should visit www.happyhoneymoonregistry.com and open the Learn More link at upper right to learn more.

About Happy Honeymoon Registry

Couples use the Happy Honeymoon Registry to book their honeymoon with their travel agent and then register for the items and romantic activities of their honeymoon as wedding gifts. Wedding guests select from an array of items, i.e. a day of snorkeling, a sunset dinner cruise, kayaking, hot-air ballooning and airfare contributions. Leslie Bryant of TravelWizard.com recommends the honeymoon registry to all of her honeymoon clients. "My clients love the registry. They love that they can receive a memorable activity or room upgrade that they might not have been able to afford themselves. It's a much better wedding gift than another toaster or set of wine glasses. For me as a travel agent, it's an invaluable sales tool."
