With an impressive background that spans 40 years, Ms. Yanashusky specializes in elementary education. As a support teacher at Hudson School, she is responsible for teaching various subjects including reading, writing and mathematics to first through fourth-grade students. She enjoys working with children and feels a sense of gratification in watching students progress. Ms. Yanashusky attained her multi-sensory teaching skills through participation in the Orton-Gillingham Program, a method of teaching children to read using phonics. She attributes her success to the support she receives from her family and friends, and considers receiving the Governors Teacher Recognition Award to be her greatest professional accomplishment.

A certified reading specialist, Ms. Yanashusky earned a Master's Degree in Reading and a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from New Jersey City University. She is certified to teach English as a second language, and is a member of the Union City Education Association, the New Jersey Education Association and the National Education Association. She was recognized by Who's Who Among American Teachers and was selected as the Professional of the Year in Elementary Education by Cambridge Who's Who in 2007 and 2008.
