Dr. Deepika Gopal Honored by Cambridge Who's Who

    Dallas, TX, May 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Deepika Gopal, Cardiologist with The Dallas Heart Group, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the field of Cardiology.

With seven years of clinical experience, Dr. Gopal practices at The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano, Baylor Regional Medical Center in Plano, and at Medical City Dallas Hospital. She serves as Medical Director of Echocardiography at Medical City Dallas Hospital, and Medical Director of Cardiac CT Angiography and Co Medical Director, Women's Cardiovascular Institute at the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano. Dr. Gopal specializes in cutting edge Cardiovascular Imaging and has a very special interest in Heart Disease in Women. She also founded the Dallas Heart Group Vein Treatment Center.

The recipient of an MD from the University of Madras, India, Dr. Gopal completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. She then completed a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and Advanced Echocardiography Fellowship from the Washington University School of Medicine, Barnes- Jewish hospital, St. Louis, MO. She is also fellowship trained in Cardiovascular MRI and Cardiac CT angiography.

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Gopal is a member of the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, the American society of Echocardiography and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.

She has recently published the book "Every Woman's Guide to Her Heart", which is a community education book on heart disease risk, diagnosis and prevention. In the future, Dr. Gopal hopes to continue to educate her community on heart disease prevention, and remain informed of cutting edge diagnostic technology.
