NEW ORLEANS, LA, November 3, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John J. Giovengo, Jr., Director of Facilities for Academy of the Sacred Heart, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in facility management.

Mr. Giovengo manages two campuses for Academy of the Sacred Heart. An 18-year veteran of his profession, he is tasked with overseeing maintenance, security, transportation, landscaping and janitorial services. His responsibilities include managing work orders, assigning jobs to staff, ordering supplies and materials, budgeting, accepting bids, and dealing with contractors and administrators. Mr. Giovengo considers ensuring a clean, secure and mechanically fit facility for students and staff alike to be the most vital aspect of his work. Honored with a Manager of the Quarter Award and a Manager of the Month Award, he attributes his success to his dedication to his profession.

A member of the New Orleans Association of Building and Plant Managers, Mr. Giovengo is a Licensed Journeyman Plumber and Licensed First Class Boiler Operator. He completed coursework in engineering at Elaine P. Nunez Technical Institute and trained under Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 60. Additionally, he holds a license in first class heating and air-conditioning and a certification in refrigeration from the Environmental Protection Agency. In his spare time, Mr. Giovengo volunteers with VOA. He aspires to either become a regional director in education or venture into the hospitality industry within the next five years.
