Rear Admiral (Retired) Denis Boyle, CMM, CD2 Named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year for Excellence in Military Leadership

Rear Admiral (Retired) Denis Richard Boyle was presented with the CMM - Commander of the Order of Military Merit, by the Governor General

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA, March 8, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rear Admiral (Retired) Denis Richard Boyle, CMM, CD2, Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) and past Director of Member Support for the Naval Association of Canada (NAC), has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Military Leadership. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

Prior to his retirement as a Rear Admiral in 1990, he oversaw a staff of 4000 and managed a Capital Acquisition budget of approximately $10 million a day. He attributes much of his success to his mother, who with only a grade 8 education was the best engineer he has ever known. His knowledge and experience are still recognized in military and naval engineering circles. He continues to do some volunteer work in support of veterans and their families.

Mr. Boyle initially joined the naval reserve at HMCS PREVOST whilst still in High School because he wanted to get out of the little village in which he then lived. He is a graduate of Royal Roads Military College, the Royal Naval Engineering College, the CF Staff College, York University (BA in Economics), the National Defense College, and an immersion course in French at the CF Language School. His professional associations include the Canadian Institute of Marine Engineering as well as NAC. He is also a Trustee in the Canadian Naval Memorial Trust: HMCS SACKVILLE, and often states "his life began when he joined the Navy".

In honor of his 39 years of service, he was presented with the CMM - Commander of the Order of Military Merit, by the Governor General, and wears two clasps to his Canada Decoration.
