A trucker's work day is tiring, even though he is seated at the wheel most of the time. Truck design has improved over the years so that seats are more comfortable, ventilation is better, and ergonomic principles have governed cab design.

These big, sometimes beautiful, trucks can wreak havoc if they aren't kept in top condition, if the driver isn't rested enough or if the trucks are improperly loaded.

Truckers are essential to our way of life, but fatigued truckers with shifts that span too long are a hazard on our roadways.
