ATLANTA, GA, March 11, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael Carson, Head Football Coach and Founder of the Georgia Prep Sports Academy (GPSA), (www.GeorgiaPrepSportsAcademy.org), a rigorous post high school graduate academic athletic program for students who wish to continue their desire to earn a four-year scholarship at an accredited four year college met with Vice President Joseph Biden and shared the merits of GPSA's program.
"The mission of GPSA's post-graduate sports program is to provide young men and women the opportunity to continue their education and to obtain a college degree while participating in collegiate sports," said Carson. The program pushes students in practice, tests their character and leadership abilities, and gets them committed to their education. GPSA's programs are not the simple route, many families choose this path to success in order to get stronger college qualifications and the opportunity to push their child's athletic skills to the limit.
The Vice President and Coach Carson agreed that the President's White House Initiative to empower boys and young men of color, My Brother's Keeper, ties in with the efforts of Georgia Prep Sports Academy. GPSA and My Brother's Keeper both help young people facing tough odds reach their full potential said Coach Carson, we are committed to working with the White House and President Obama's designee, the Governor of GA, Nathan Deal, the Mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed, our local elected officials, corporate supporters, non-profit groups, the local community and caring individuals to ensure the success of our initiatives because they are not mutually exclusive in their vision, scope and objective. As the President has said, "ensuring that young men of color can reach their full potential is the only way 'America can reach its full potential.'"
