Outsource Ten Concerns Over Fuel Poverty

Managing Director Brett Heyes of Outsource Ten expresses concern for 2700 lives that could be lost due to Fuel Poverty this year.

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, November 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Outsource Ten, an outsourced sales and marketing firm specializing in energy efficiency, promote preventative measures to avoid these potential yet unnecessary deaths. An interim report from the Guardian suggests that the number of 'winter deaths' could be a result of the rise in Fuel Poverty. The statistics indicate that up to 2700 people could lose their lives due to inadequate heating. Outsource Ten are taking steps to promote effective methods of preventing fuel poverty such has insulating homes.

Outsource Ten research suggests that by definition, a household that needs to spend more than 10% of its income to maintain an adequate heating regime is suffering from Fuel Poverty, this accounts for 4.1 million homes in England and Wales according to the Department of Energy and Climate Change. It is believed that the elderly are more likely to fall victim than any other demographic in the country. Help in the form of funding has been made available through a Government Initiative to reduce carbon emissions by insulating homes properly.

The Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) requires all domestic energy suppliers with a customer base in excess of 50,000 customers to make savings in the amount of CO2 emitted by householders. Suppliers meet this target by promoting the uptake of low carbon energy solutions to household energy consumers, thereby assisting them to reduce the carbon footprint of their homes.

"Home insulation provides the most cost effective way of reducing energy bills and with funding in place comes at very little or no cost at all to home owners," says Brett Heyes, Managing Director at Outsource Ten.

Outsource Ten have worked within the Home Insulation Industry for nearly 3 years and have used their experience in direct marketing to reach out to consumers and further educate them on energy efficiency. Outsource Ten records show 500,000 people have been contacted through their direct marketing methods and made aware of the benefits of home insulation. "Fuel poverty is a huge issue in the UK so it's a privilege to have the opportunity to educate people on energy efficiency. We aim to deliver a more personal message to home owners by contacting them directly. This strategy has proven to be a more cost effective way of delivering a specific message and at the same time creating measured results for our clients within home insulation," says Brett Heyes, MD at Outsource Ten.

Outsource Ten push to educate home owners further on the benefits home insulation have on energy efficiency. Brett Heyes of Outsource Ten predicts his firm should contact a further 500,000 by the end of quarter one in 2012.
