Jeanette Horner-Smith, Business and Human Resource Management professor for Strayer University and personal career planner, has been named a Worldwide Who's Who Professional of the Year in Human Resource Management. While inclusion in Worldwide Who's Who is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Who's Who membership.

After serving in the military for 20 years, Mrs. Horner-Smith decided to satisfy her lifelong desire to teach by going into the education and human resource management industry. Mrs. Horner-Smith has gained considerable expertise in human resources, business, management, higher education teaching and mentoring, and career planning, as well as resume writing and interviewing. She is responsible for training faculty and advising students on a multitude of subjects in order to help them to achieve their goals. Additionally, she facilitates writing workshops to help students improve their writing and communication skills.

Mrs. Horner-Smith attributes her success to her perseverance and overcoming life and work challenges. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Management with specialization in Human Resource Management from Capella University. Her educational background includes earning an Advanced Graduate Study Certificate for completing doctoral coursework, a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management, a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and an Associate of Arts degree in general studies. She is a member of Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) national and local chapters.
