Ms. Meeks is most proud to have been nominated for the Teacher of the Week Award in the City of San Angelo
SAN ANGELO, TX, May 17, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sandy G. Meeks has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After earning a bachelor's degree in elementary education with concentrations in health and physical education from Angelo State University in 1979, Ms. Meeks embarked on a three decade-long career in education. Additionally, she successfully operated a photo booth business for seven years. Now retired, she works as an author. Ms. Meeks' first book, "The Adventures of C.W.," drew inspiration from the example of her grandson, who stayed with her and her husband during a snowstorm.
Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, Ms. Meeks aligned herself with the Texas Classroom Teachers Association, as well as the local Parent Teacher Association and the Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society. In conjunction with her work, she dedicates herself to Neighbor's Café, a soup kitchen that provides hot meals for the homeless and other less fortunate members of the community five days a week. Due to her outstanding work in education, Ms. Meeks was named as the Teacher of the Year in 2009.
Although her career has been filled with standout moments, Ms. Meeks is most proud to have been nominated for the Teacher of the Week Award in the City of San Angelo, an honor that she was bestowed by one of her sixth-grade students. Additionally, she is proud of winning the Teacher of the Year Award, for which she was nominated by her fellow teachers. Looking toward the future, Ms. Meeks intends to reflect back on a storied career in education while writing more children's books.
