After serving as a combat photographer and in photo intelligence, he worked as a marketing manager for Pacific Stereo from 1971 to 1974, after which he distinguished himself as the executive vice president and general manager of University Stereo between 1975 and 1980. Following this period, Mr. Herman established JAM Advertising Ink in Los Angeles, through which he cultivated a number of lucrative client relationships with such prestigious companies as Toshiba and Coca-Cola.
For his stellar efforts, Mr. Herman was presented with the National Retailer of the Year Award for consumer electronics. Moreover, the Los Angeles Times recognized him among their Top 100 Executives. In accounting for his standout success, he credits his propensity for lifting the fortunes of ill-performing businesses, through which he and initially his wife, Diane, have managed to sustain the Exposures International Gallery.
