William Carrion Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

Mr. Carrion has been endorsed by Marquis Who's Who as a leader in the fields of pharmaceuticals and management

HUMACAO, PUERTO RICO, June 27, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present William Carrion with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Carrion celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After more than 25 years of service in the pharmaceutical industry and management, Mr. Carrion established CCG Consulting Group as its president in 2012. Consulting on highly technical projects for clients, he is responsible for reviewing and approving complex documentation of applicants, which is subsequently presented to government agencies for funding.

Mr. Carrion migrated to his current profession largely due to the influx that the pharmaceutical industry saw in terms of outsourcing. Having previously worked for several internationally recognized pharmaceutical companies, he was able to leverage his years of leadership, communication, and people skills to successfully pivot toward forming his own business. Looking to the future, Mr. Carrion aims to continue expanding staffing and revenue by approximately 15%, while continuing the technical support for the reconstruction of Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.

Mr. Carrion's career in pharmaceuticals included appointments as the vice president of operations for Carrington Laboratories, general manager for Millipore, manufacturing manager for Procter & Gamble, and technical service technician for Johnson & Johnson. Additionally, he served in several other leading roles, including as the executive director for the Puerto Rico Aqueduct & Sewer Authority (PRASA) and as the project delivery manager for CSA Group, Architects and Engineers.

Achieving several recognitions during his career, Mr. Carrion was instrumental in building the Juncos plant in Puerto Rico in 1990 while employed with Colgate-Palmolive. While serving as the executive director for the PRASA, he was also a part of a team that was responsible for the construction of the Fajardo Dam, Rio Blanco Dam and several water treatment plants. He was later tasked with leading and conducting the damage assessment claim after the power authority (PREPA) had suffered severe damage due to Hurricane Maria. The project resulted in presenting claims in excess of $10 billion and it became recognized as the largest FEMA claim in U.S. history for a single applicant.

Crediting much of his success to having worked for several reputable Fortune 500 companies, Mr. Carrion garnered significant mentorship from several top leaders in the industry. Although he initially planned to work in petroleum engineering after college, the only plant on the island of Puerto Rico at the time had shut down. Fortunately, during this time the pharmaceutical industry was becoming more established. Johnson & Johnson had also just built several medicinal plants on the island and Mr. Carrion was able to secure a position with the pharmaceutical company shortly after earning his chemical engineering degree.

Mr. Carrion graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez in 1987, followed by a master's degree in business administration at the Universidad Ana G. Méndez Puerto Rico in 2000. Throughout the course of his subsequent career, he distinguished himself as a past president of the Puerto Rico Water and Environment Association and American Water Works Association. He is also a past president of the Caguas chapter of the Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico. Honoring his achievements, Mr. Carrion was recognized as the Manager of the Year by the Puerto Rico Manufacturers Association and with a You Can Make a Difference Award by Colgate-Palmolive. He is a former U.S. Air Force officer.
