Ms. Harris has established herself as a prominent figure in the arts community, particularly through her leadership roles at the Arts and Design Society. She pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences in fashion buying and merchandising from the Fashion Institute of Technology, State University of New York, graduating in 1967. Ms. Harris's education in fashion initially guided her towards the arts and history fields, which later influenced her passion for travel and led to her long-standing career in the airline industry.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Harris is deeply involved in civic organizations and community projects. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a founding member of 100+Women Who Care. Her commitment to education is reflected in her role as the former curriculum chair at the Center for Lifelong Learning, where she also teaches encaustic painting. As the co-founder of HHArts, Ms. Harris actively supports nonprofit organizations through donations raised from gallery events.
Ms. Harris's contributions to the arts extend beyond her gallery work. She is involved with the Okaloosa Arts Alliance, where she organizes poster contests for children, and supports Kids Camp and Okaloosa Pubic Arts, where she helped initiate the Okaloosa Heron project. Looking ahead, Ms. Harris aims to continue showcasing new artists at her gallery while finding more time for relaxation amidst her busy schedule. Throughout her life, she attributes much of her success to the strong work ethic instilled by her parents and grandparents. Her husband's unwavering support has also been instrumental in helping her pursue her goals, allowing them to work together as partners in both personal and professional endeavors.
