A specialist in technology and media production, Mr. Allen has led his life with success at the forefront of his mind. Drawing upon nearly 30 years of professional experience, he excels as the managing director of VAAV Industries. Founded in 2021, VAAV Industries endeavors to reinvent and invigorate broadcast media and audio-visual spheres, supported by Mr. Allen's comprehensive expertise in audio-visual technology and communications. Throughout his career, Mr. Allen has authored articles in prominent industry journals and magazines, spoken at worldwide conferences and served on boards to disseminate his knowledge. In 2020, he was appointed a member of the cybersecurity advisory board at Ithaca College.

In his formative years, Mr. Allen held passions for storytelling, theater, film production and the creative arts — subjects that propelled him into his current career as an avid educator, leader and public speaker. Ultimately, he intends to further the success of the next generation of artists and technologists while leaving an unwavering legacy for his daughter through his company, VAAV Industries.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Allen served in a myriad of media-related roles. He started his career as a lighting and sound technician at The Hangout in Fairhope, Alabama, and established a track record of innovation and excellence by co-founding JDTV in Juneau, Alaska, helping to develop it into a statewide recognized news organization. JDTV regularly contributed to statewide and national news organizations. Mr. Allen continued his career in Alaska, moving on to KATH-TV and the University of Alaska IT and media services departments, during which time he created content that earned KATH the Goldie Award from the Alaska Broadcasters Association three times in a row. While at UAS, he contributed to teams that built the first campus fully configured for Wi-Fi, winning a NASA RID grant. These teams also built and operated one of the first live-streaming studios.

Supporting distance education for military service members, Mr. Allen has continued to work extensively for numerous communications and news media organizations. He and his team were featured in USA TODAY for their work on the WeightWatchers virtual studio interface. They were nominated for three Webby Awards and awarded in two special technical achievement categories.

Mr. Allen approaches his work through integrative methodologies, having leveraged his specialization in media to apply to other facets of his career. To that end, VAAV Industries is currently building curricula that integrate audio-visual applications with television, podcast and film production to train the next generation of experts. VAAV is also building the next generation of tools to increase the efficiency of remote work while decreasing Zoom fatigue. In the coming years, Mr. Allen endeavors to leverage this technology to transform his company into a global leader in broadcasting and technology, emphasizing diversity and inclusion.

EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTS
Highly educated, Mr. Allen completed coursework in communications, media and arts production, and technology at the University of Alaska Southeast. Thereafter, he received a diploma in Christian ministry studies from the Christian Heritage College in Australia in 2009 and a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies, with an emphasis on the academic study of theology and Christian ministry, from Alliance University in 2012. Subsequently, Mr. Allen pursued graduate coursework in Jewish and Judaic studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel and in public and applied history at Southern New Hampshire University. He was recently awarded an honorary doctorate in professional studies from Universidad Azteca.
