Ms. Thomas has established herself as a distinguished professional in the field of defined benefits, currently serving as a senior defined benefits project manager at Aon. With more than 15 years of experience, she has honed her expertise in calculation and legal compliance responsibilities, managing complex projects with precision and dedication. Since joining Aon in 2016, she has been instrumental in overseeing client satisfaction, billing, finance and participant exchange for currently four clients, including two major accounts. Her role involves leading projects from a human resources perspective and managing project-funded defined benefit initiatives, such as separation programs or plan terminations.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Thomas served as a project manager at Aon from 2016 to 2018. Her decision to join Aon was driven by her desire to relocate to North Carolina from Connecticut, where she had previously lived. Her interest in the company led her to apply for the project manager role, marking the beginning of her successful tenure with the organization.

Before her time at Aon, Ms. Thomas spent nearly a decade at Prudential Financial, now known as Empower, where she held the position of manager of defined benefits relationship management from 2007 to 2016. During her tenure, she made significant contributions by leading a symposium at the Black Leadership Forum. This event attracted approximately 450 attendees and showcased her leadership skills as she directed/lead a team responsible for various aspects of the symposium.

Ms. Thomas's career began with a unique opportunity through the LEADERs Program at her previous company. This program provided her with a rotating work experience across different roles within the organization. One of her notable positions during this time was as a defined benefit solutions manager, eventually leading to her role as the permanent manager of that team. Her early experiences laid a strong foundation for her future success in the industry.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Thomas is also recognized for her contributions to industry-related organizations as a co-founder of the Carolinas chapter of the Black Professional Network. As an African American, she highlights the importance of staying true to oneself, being mindful of one's environment and embracing one's identity with authenticity in the corporate world. Ms. Thomas is also a currently a member of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA).

Ms. Thomas's educational background includes a bachelor's degree in legal studies with a focus on dispute resolution and a minor in psychology from the University of New Haven in 2006. Her academic achievements have played a crucial role in shaping her career path and have contributed to her success as a go-getter with a strong work ethic.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Thomas is deeply committed to her faith, family and personal interests. Born in St. Lucia, she is a devoted mother to her daughter, who serves as her main source of inspiration. In her leisure time, she enjoys gardening and traveling to destinations like Thailand, Africa and Ecuador. Despite facing health challenges following a stroke in October 2024 that affected the use of her right hand, she remains focused on maintaining her well-being and being present for her daughter in the years ahead.
