BAKERSFIELD, CA, July 11, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tiffany Clarice Frieson, EdD, MS, RDN, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. A leader in the field of nutrition and dietetics, Dr. Frieson currently serves as the nutrition services manager and clinical dietitian at Kern Valley Healthcare District. Since stepping into this role in 2018, she has skillfully overseen the hospital's food service department, planning menus to meet diverse dietary needs and overseeing the daily work of more than a dozen staff members. Her responsibilities extend to attending interdisciplinary meetings, performing patient rounds and organizing hospital events such as the annual CRABFEST fundraiser. With an eye for educating her staff and the community, she trains new hires, mentors nurses in CNA classes and provides medical nutrition therapy and outpatient counseling.

Prior to her current position, Dr. Frieson served as a clinical dietitian with Sodexo, where she provided medical nutrition therapy to residents and patients with complex conditions in an acute care hospital and long-term senior living care facility to ensure nutritional needs were met. Her responsibilities included conducting initial and follow-up nutrition assessments, collaborating with medical and culinary personnel, and planning for care upon discharge while ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

As an optimum wellness specialist and nutritionist at King Soopers, City Market, Dr. Frieson assisted customers with achieving their health and wellness goals with natural and organic supplements and body care products procured from the store's Optimum Wellness Center. Additionally, she monitored and controlled inventory, placed product orders and managed stock. During her tenure at King Soopers, Dr. Frieson gained valuable knowledge of natural supplements, complementary and alternative therapies and how to accommodate specialty or restricted diets.

In 2016, Dr. Frieson completed a food service dietetic internship at the Coeur d'Alene School District, where she ensured the district was meeting federal guidelines by creating recipes using NutriKids software. Additionally, she created and implemented a system to streamline inventory management. Earlier in 2016, she completed an additional internship as a clinical dietitian at Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital, a long-term care facility for individuals with medically complex conditions. There, she implemented and monitored nutritional support for patients requiring feeding tubes or intravenous nutrient delivery. Dr. Frieson's early career included roles as a community dietetic intern at Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), a graduate thesis researcher at the University of Idaho, and a food and nutrition services intern at Jeffco Public Schools.

Dr. Frieson's academic achievements have been instrumental in her career success. She earned a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Capella University in 2023, a Master of Science in family and consumer sciences with a focus on food and nutrition from the University of Idaho in 2016, and dual bachelor's degrees in family and consumer sciences from the same institution in 2016 and 2014. Her education has been complemented by certifications as a ServSafe Food Protection Manager from the National Restaurant Association and as a registered dietitian from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

As a commitment to her profession, Dr. Frieson holds active membership in several industry-related organizations, including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Management in Food and Nutrition Systems Dietetic Practice Group. She has made significant contributions to the literature in her field by authoring several publications, including a dissertation on food allergy knowledge among nutrition services staff. She also hosts "Tuesday with Dr. Tiffany," a series of monthly nutrition videos on the Kern Valley Healthcare District YouTube channel.

Dr. Frieson's contributions extend beyond her professional duties; she is actively involved in civic-minded initiatives such as chairing the Oktoberfest: Brews for Books fundraiser with the Junior League of Bakersfield. Looking ahead, she envisions expanding her impact by publishing her dissertation as a journal article and potentially transitioning into teaching roles that leverage her doctoral education.
