Dr. Nouri has established himself as a distinguished figure in neurovascular surgery, currently serving as the director of neurovascular surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Jamaica, New York. Since assuming this role in 2021, he has been instrumental in transforming the hospital into the first and only comprehensive stroke center in Queens, New York. Under Dr. Nouri's leadership, the center has achieved the highest recognition from the American Heart Association for its exceptional timeline and quality of care over the past few years. This achievement is particularly significant given that before his tenure, Queens was underserved in terms of comprehensive stroke care.

Acquired by Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in 2020, Dr. Nouri worked as a cerebrovascular surgeon and neurointerventionist. His expertise in managing brain and spinal cord vascular diseases, strokes, brain bleeding, brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and Moyamoya disease has been pivotal in elevating the standard of care provided by the hospital. Today, Dr. Nouri is responsible for overseeing the entire neurovascular surgery service, ensuring efficient workflows and treating patients both in emergency and outpatient settings.

Dr. Nouri earned a Doctor of Medicine from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran in 2008. He then completed a residency in neurosurgery at Tehran University of Medical Sciences between 2008 and 2013. Following this, he completed a series of fellowships that have contributed to his expertise, beginning with a three-month fellowship in neurovascular surgery at Fujita Health University in Japan between 2013 and 2014 and another three-month fellowship in skull base surgery at Cornell University in 2017. From there, Dr. Nouri refined his skills through a fellowship in endovascular surgical neuroradiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from 2017 to 2019, followed by a one-year fellowship at North Shore University Hospital and a fellowship in cerebrovascular surgery at Hofstra University between 2019 and 2020.

In addition to his clinical achievements, Dr. Nouri is actively involved with several professional organizations. He is a member of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He also served on the board of directors for the Asian Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Furthermore, Dr. Nouri contributed as an editorial board member for both the Iranian Journal of Neurosurgery and the Asian Journal of Neurosurgery.

Dr. Nouri's contributions to health care have not gone unnoticed. In 2025, he was honored with the Healthcare Heroes Award by Schneps Media, reflecting his dedication to advancing medical care and improving patient outcomes. Dr. Nouri attributes much of his success to goal setting, persistence and the guidance of exceptional mentors across Iran, Japan and the U.S., who have significantly influenced his career trajectory.

Looking ahead, Dr. Nouri aims to further elevate the standard of care in Queens by expanding services to more hospitals and regions, including private practice. Recently beginning procedures at Flushing Hospital, he also hopes to dedicate more time to research focused on enhancing procedures and outcomes for stroke patients.
