Ms. Michel has established herself as a dedicated legal professional, currently serving as Legal Counsel for VOXX International Corporation since 2023. In her capacity, she has demonstrated expertise in contracts and negotiation, playing a pivotal role in developing and refining the company's contract maintenance system. When Ms. Michel assumed her current position, the organization had only recently implemented its contract management platform. She took the initiative to build and co-create processes for managing contracts, generating reports, and ensuring compliance with auditors. Her efforts have been instrumental in establishing structured workflows that support both operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.

A typical day for Ms. Michel involves an exhilarating blend of legal intricacies and strategic program development. From drafting a variety of legal documents across thirty contract types, such as nondisclosure agreements, license agreements, distribution agreements, sales representative agreements, and real estate agreements. She is also responsible for managing brand authorization letters and ensuring compliance with customs regulations by working closely with relevant agencies. Collaboration is central to her role; she regularly partners with the accounting team, the commissions team, the import and export team, among others, to ensure alignment on commercial terms. Ms. Michel engages with the engineering team to confirm access to the necessary mechanical and software data involved in product development, contributing to process planning discussions. Additionally, she also participates in meetings with executives to align legal strategies with company goals.

Ms. Michel began her tenure at VOXX International Corporation as a legal intern from 2022 to 2023 while completing her final year of law school. Her performance during this period led to her immediate hiring upon graduation. As an intern, she gained practical experience in corporate law, supporting the legal department in document preparation and compliance matters.

Before joining VOXX International Corporation, Ms. Michel completed an apprenticeship as a legal extern at the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in 2022. During this time, she participated in two federal trials, contributing to depositions, discovery processes and court filings. She conducted interviews with law enforcement officers and attended court sessions, gaining valuable exposure to litigation procedures.

From 2021 to 2022, Ms. Michel served as a transcriptionist at Touro University while pursuing her graduate studies. She also undertook an apprenticeship as a veterans service representative at the Veterans' & Servicemembers' Rights Clinic at Touro Law Center during the same period. In this role, she worked on discharge upgrades, benefits claims and resource connections for veterans, a continuation of her longstanding commitment to supporting those who have served in the military.

In 2021, Ms. Michel interned at The Safe Center of Long Island, where she focused on family law matters affecting victims of domestic violence. Her responsibilities included assisting clients with Violence Against Women Act applications, immigration issues, child custody cases and spousal support petitions. She was actively involved in client intake interviews, documentation gathering, and building rapport with individuals seeking assistance.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Michel worked as a case manager at the Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk from 2019 to 2020. As a case manager, she played a key role in developing the Rapid Resolution program, a comprehensive initiative designed to reconnect veterans with their families, provide immediate shelter, and facilitate access to benefits and discharge upgrades. She authored a detailed handbook outlining program implementation strategies and participated in a national conference to share in discussions about best practices with peers across the United States. Her contributions led to an improved program structure and documentation, which enhanced clarity for all stakeholders.

As part of a global team, Ms. Michel engages in commercial endeavors in multiple countries, such as Canada, France, Germany, China, Japan, and across Latin America. Throughout her career, she has been able to use her background in Kreyól and French to negotiate and contribute to meaningful conversations.

While attending the University of Hartford from 2016 to 2019, Ms. Michel held several positions, such as a recruiter, a tutor for four academic courses, and a tutoring coordinator. She also worked as a receptionist at the Student Success Center during this period. During her time at the Student Success Center, Ms. Michel established a team of four individuals who pioneered events geared towards increasing community engagement and the transmission of information to all students. Ms. Michel established a strong rapport with then University President Gregory Woodward. She valued his commitment to student success, and engaged in regular discussions on how to make the University better.

Ms. Michel's academic background includes earning a Doctor of Law from Touro University on Long Island in 2022. Her legal education provided a strong foundation for her work in contract negotiation and compliance at VOXX International Corporation, as well as her advocacy for veterans' rights during law school clinics and internships. She previously obtained a bachelor's degree in political science and government with a minor in economics from the University of Hartford in Connecticut in 2019.

Throughout her academic journey, Ms. Michel received several honors, including an achievement scholarship from Touro Law Center in 2022, the CALI Award for Academic Excellence in the Veterans' & Servicemembers' Rights Clinic in 2021, and a merit scholarship from Touro Law Center in 2020. At the University of Hartford, she was recognized with the Robert Hanley Award from the Division of Student Success in 2019 and was named to the Dean's List for three consecutive years.

Ms. Michel is an active member of Phi Sigma Alpha – The National Political Science Honor Society, as well as the Political Science Association.

Her civic engagement extends beyond her professional responsibilities through pro bono work, including support for victims of domestic violence and initiatives promoting veterans' rights. She contributes to charitable causes, such as church missions trips and food banks.

Born on Long Island, Ms. Michel is passionate about music, writing songs, recording vocals, and audio engineering. She also plays piano at church, where she leads worship services. She assists others by writing music on other artists projects, and enjoys participating in theater productions.

Looking ahead, Ms. Michel aims to continuing advancing in her legal career by creating an environment dedicated to transparency, and the fundamental belief that everyone deserves adequate representation. She is committed to fostering creativity within her community by demonstrating that we can have both professional and artistic pursuits.

Ms. Michel aspires to establish a transitional complex explicitly dedicated to women veterans and their families on Long Island that would provide employment opportunities alongside essential life skills training, such as money management, therapy, physical health support and daycare services, all within a safe environment designed for reintegration into society.

She attributes her achievements to her faith, supportive parents, phenomenal siblings, great friends, and extraordinary teachers, who instilled in her the values of perseverance, hope, hard work, and resilience—principles that continue to guide her personal growth, professional success, community involvement, and creative endeavors today.
