Beyond his clinical practice and humanitarian endeavors, Dr. Wiggins has served as a member of the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners Dental Review Committee since 2019. Furthermore, he is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, and is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Much of Dr. Wiggins' success stems from his equally distinguished and broad academic background. Dr. Wiggins earned a Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston (now McGovern Medical School) in 2001 after earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in 1997. His earlier academic achievements include earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business at the age of 19. He completed a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) in 2003 and a general surgery internship at the same institution. Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, he earned a Master of Divinity in New Testament Studies from Regent University School of Divinity in 2022. He is currently working toward another graduate degree. Licensed to practice both medicine and dentistry by the State of Texas, he has been certified as both an Advanced Cardiac Life Support instructor and a Pediatric Advanced Life Support provider for almost three decades.

Reflecting on his storied journey thus far, Dr. Wiggins credits his success across health care, authorship, and humanitarianism to hard work, perseverance, faith, and an unwavering commitment to his calling. Also active in his local church, where he has been a church board member and elder since 2015. He is a board member of the Edward C. Hinds Academy Foundation, which supports UT Houston in providing care to lower-income patients and families.

Recognized for his achievements in both medicine and education, Dr. Wiggins was honored with an award from the Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and inducted into the Odontological Honor Society at Baylor College of Dentistry (now Texas A&M School of Dentistry). He was also accepted into the leading national dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. In 2025, he was presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award from Who's Who in America.
