This year, the firm partnered with Sarah's Circle, a Chicago-based nonprofit that provides housing, support services, and resources to unhoused women throughout the city.

Many women across Chicago grapple with financial instability, limited resources, and unsafe conditions, especially during the winter months. Sarah's Circle addresses these challenges through gender-sensitive, trauma-informed services designed specifically for women, recognizing that women often become homeless for different reasons than men. Their work plays a key role in helping some of Chicago's most vulnerable women rebuild their lives.

To contribute to Sarah's Circle's mission, the team at Merel Family Law purchased materials and assembled Winter Kits and Hygiene Kits inside the firm's office. Attorneys and staff organized an assembly-line process to efficiently package cold-weather essentials, toiletries, and personal care items for women experiencing homelessness. The hands-on project allowed the firm's team to provide practical, immediate help during one of the most challenging seasons of the year.
