VINCENNES, IN, December 23, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Fuller has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Fuller, the chief deputy at the Knox County Sheriff's Office in Vincennes, Indiana, has excelled in his role since 2021. In this capacity, he assumes the responsibilities of the sheriff when the sheriff is unavailable, manages administrative tasks and personnel matters, approves all purchases, oversees inventory supply, and ensures that all department vehicles are adequately maintained. Mr. Fuller is particularly proud to have attained the role of chief deputy, the highest non-elected law enforcement position in the county, earned through demonstrated leadership and commitment.
Since earning his position as chief deputy, Mr. Fuller has achieved significant milestones, including updating the existing policy and procedures and developing new policies, such as a hiring process for all new deputies. He has also implemented procedures for rigorous monitoring of inventory control, purchasing, and vehicle use for the office and has secured grants from both federal and state governments to support departmental operations, saving the county over $1 million.
Before his current role, Mr. Fuller served as a major at the Knox County Sheriff's Office from 2019 to 2021. During this period, he oversaw daily operations and supported strategic initiatives that enhanced departmental efficiency and accountability. Between 2016 and 2019, Mr. Fuller held the rank of captain within the same office. His law enforcement career began in 2007 when he joined the Knox County Sheriff's Office as a deputy. Over nearly a decade in this position, he developed foundational skills in public safety, community engagement, and investigative procedures.
Before entering law enforcement, Mr. Fuller owned and operated Fuller Construction Inc. from 1988 to 2007. As owner, he led construction projects throughout the region, building a reputation for quality artistry and business acumen. Moreover, Mr. Fuller has contributed to higher education as an adjunct professor at Vincennes University. Through this role, he has shared his expertise with students pursuing careers in criminal justice and related fields.
Mr. Fuller's initial entry into law enforcement was inspired by a desire to serve following national events that underscored the importance of public safety. After working as a building contractor for local companies after high school, he established his construction business. However, motivated by a sense of duty after the September 11th attack on the Twin Towers and unable to join the military due to age restrictions, Mr. Fuller began volunteering as a reserve deputy with the local sheriff's office. This decision ultimately led him to pursue a career in law enforcement full-time.
Mr. Fuller's academic background has played a pivotal role in his professional success. Early in his educational journey, he received an associate degree in business administration and management from Vincennes University in 1993. He also earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and law enforcement administration from Oakland City University in 2014 and a Master of Science in criminal justice and human services from the University of Cincinnati in 2016. This advanced degree provided Mr. Fuller with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary issues in law enforcement and human services, directly informing his approach to departmental leadership and community relations.
Beyond his professional commitments, Mr. Fuller is actively involved in civic initiatives as a member of Hadi Shriners, whose mission is to provide the highest quality care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries, and other special healthcare needs.
Attributing his achievements to his educational experiences, Mr. Fuller received a strong foundation for both his business endeavors and public service roles. Looking ahead, he aspires to run for sheriff to build on the successes achieved during his tenure with the department.
