In this capacity, Mr. Cockrell oversees daily operations and is actively involved in selling to customers. Under his leadership, the company has expanded significantly, now operating three lumberyards, a door and trim facility, and preparing to open a fourth lumberyard. The business employs more than 90 individuals, underscoring his dedication to growth and excellence.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Cockrell was a sales representative at Builders FirstSource Inc. from 2013 to 2019. Recognizing the importance of corporate experience for career advancement, he joined the organization to broaden his industry knowledge and skill set. His tenure at Builders FirstSource provided valuable insights into large-scale operations and further honed his sales acumen.

From 2006 until 2012, Mr. Cockrell worked as a sales representative for Big D Lumber Company, where he leveraged his extensive background in framing and construction to assist both customers and colleagues with client-related challenges. He first gained experience as a sales representative in 2005 at Universal Forest Products (now UFP Industries), following its acquisition of Slaughter Industries.

Between 1996 and 2004, Mr. Cockrell held responsibilities in estimating and purchasing at C&F Construction and Metrotex Framing. During this time, he managed bidding processes and procurement activities for one of the largest turnkey framing contractors in the region.

Mr. Cockrell's early exposure to the construction framing industry began in childhood while working for his uncle's framing company around the age of 13. After relocating to Albuquerque, he partnered with another individual to start his own company before moving to Dallas in pursuit of greater opportunities during the mid-1990s. His hands-on experience as a framer remains one of his most notable achievements, providing him with unique insights that continue to inform his approach to lumber sales and customer service.

Contributing to Mr. Cockrell's analytical skills and ability to navigate complex regulatory environments within the construction sector was his academic background, inclusive of completed coursework in criminal justice. He attributes much of his success to influential mentors, a strong work ethic and unwavering dedication — qualities that have propelled him through various stages of his journey.

Throughout his career, Mr. Cockrell has maintained active membership in several prominent industry organizations, including the Dallas Builders Association, the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association and the Lumbermen's Association of Texas. His accomplishments have been recognized nationally; notably, he was ranked 64th in the country by LBM Journal.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Cockrell is dedicated to serving others. He is engaged as a volunteer with both the Wounded Warrior Project and Helping A Hero, demonstrating a commitment to supporting veterans and various community initiatives.
