In his capacity, Mr. Ihara specializes in developing comprehensive real estate plans for affluent clients, focusing on wealth-building strategies, asset protection and intergenerational wealth transfer. He is recognized for his consultative approach, guiding clients through complex decisions and educating them on capital gains tax, trust structures and asset performance to prevent family disputes over inheritance.

Prior to joining Keller Williams Honolulu, Mr. Ihara excelled as a realtor associate with Prudential Advantage Realty from 2006 to 2013. During this period, he honed his expertise in residential property transactions and established a reputation for integrity and results-driven service within the Hawaiian market.

In addition to his work with the Ihara Team, Mr. Ihara is the founder of KW Real Estate Planner, a national training program that serves more than 450 agents across the United States. This initiative provides education on real estate wealth management and is expanding to include financial planners, trust attorneys, certified public accountants, insurance providers and property managers. He is also preparing to launch Real Estate Wealth Advisor, a company dedicated to training realtors nationwide through continuous education courses that address critical topics absent from standard industry training.

Mr. Ihara's influence extends beyond direct client service; he is a nationally sought-after speaker and coach who has addressed audiences at events such as continuing education classes for the Financial Planners Association in Hawaii and at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Over the course of his career, he has been recognized among the Top 100 Realtors for 20 years and ranked among the Top Four Realtors for a remarkable 10 years.

Devoted to staying at the forefront of best practices in the field, Mr. Ihara is an active member of both the Financial Planners Association and the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing.

Before entering the real estate sector at age 41, Mr. Ihara gained diverse experience across multiple sectors. He spent eight years working in the automobile industry within his family's business — the largest privately held automobile enterprise in Hawaii — before pursuing independent ventures. Additionally, he spent four years at a printing and copying company as well as four years selling waterproof cameras internationally, with each of these experiences cultivating his entrepreneurial mindset and adaptability.

Mr. Ihara's academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, earned in 1986. To augment his qualifications in the real estate sector, he is certified as a luxury home marketing specialist, an aging-in-place specialist and a senior relocation specialist. Furthermore, he is licensed to practice real estate by the State of Hawaii.

Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Ihara attributes his success to his faith and keeping a deliberately cultivated positive mindset. Born in Honolulu in 1963, Mr. Ihara spent much of his childhood living in various locations — including Kansas City, Kansas; Washington, District of Columbia; Fort Ord, California; and Seoul, South Korea — due to his father's military service before returning to Hawaii at age 15. Now happily married and a proud father himself, he is deeply committed to his family life, with two of his three sons also working alongside him professionally. Together they enjoy surfing, traveling on annual trips to Mexico and attending national conventions as a family unit.

Determined to further his impact in the coming years, Mr. Ihara aims to transform the real estate industry by influencing how professionals engage with clients and how the profession is perceived by society at large.
