LOS ANGELES, CA, March 26, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Over 1,600 members of the Bangladeshi community in Los Angeles gathered on L. Ron Hubbard Way to celebrate Chaand Raat, the "Night of the Moon," a festive occasion marking the end of Ramadan—a month of prayer, fasting, and spiritual reflection.

The street was lined with stalls featuring traditional clothing, jewelry, and a variety of Bangladeshi dishes, while artists added to the festivities by painting intricate henna designs on attendees' hands, symbolizing the joy and spirit of the occasion.

"We have held many events on this street, and we are grateful for the generosity of our hosts, the Church of Scientology of Los Angeles, and for the beauty of this place," said Mr. Shafiul Alam, a leader in the Little Bangladesh community and producer of this event.

In 1998, the street now known as L. Ron Hubbard Way was dedicated to author, humanitarian, and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. A resolution from the City of Los Angeles Board of Public Works issued to commemorate the completion of a beautification project on the street states: "The work on this street and its beauty was inspired by Scientology founder, L. Ron Hubbard whose humanitarian works are contributing greatly to helping eradicate illiteracy, drug abuse and criminality."

L. Ron Hubbard Way has become a hub for the community, welcoming people of diverse backgrounds who come together to celebrate their traditions and culture.

The street comes alive with community events throughout the year, from an Easter Festival that draws thousands and a lively 4th of July celebration for families across Los Angeles, to cultural street fairs celebrating the traditions of Honduras and Colombia. The street also hosts a colorful Day of the Dead celebration, a family-friendly Halloween festival, and a dazzling Christmas Lighting Ceremony to kick off the holiday season. Everyone is welcome to join the festivities on L. Ron Hubbard Way.
