This position provided him with valuable experience in public sector operations and broadened his understanding of regulatory compliance in the construction sector.

From 2014 to 2017, Mr. Scholtz served as the safety manager at DM Shop Fitting - his first major leadership role in the industry after being approached for his expertise. He was responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive health and fire safety programs, tool inspections, warehouse layouts and employee contracts, all of which contributed significantly to the company's operational standards.

Working as a senior safety practitioner at Pinnacle Safety - a consulting firm where he gained exposure to a wide range of construction projects from 2011 to 2014 - Mr. Scholtz was responsible for advising clients on best practices, conducting risk assessments and providing training across various sectors.

Mr. Scholtz began his career at Msweli Industrial Projects (Medupi Power Station) in South Africa as a junior safety officer from 2009 to 2011. Conducting daily workforce, crane and site inspections, he quickly advanced to a senior position due to his dedication and effectiveness in promoting workplace safety on large-scale industrial projects.

Alongside his primary roles, Mr. Scholtz has maintained active membership with the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management, reflecting his commitment to ongoing professional development and industry engagement. Also, an active speaker at the annual international Health and Safety conference held in Singapore.

Hailing from an extensive educational background, Mr. Scholtz has earned numerous certifications that have shaped his expertise in occupational health and safety management. He holds the International Certificate in health and safety from, earned in 2020, and a qualified lead auditor in ISO45001, and completed Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) Investigation training in 2018. Furthermore, he obtained certificates in leadership principles, incident prevention and occupational health and safety through SEESA and NOSA and has received specialized training in disciplinary procedures, negotiations and strike management, plant operation, hazard identification, investigator training and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.

Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Scholtz attributes much of his success to the love and support of his wife Natascha Scholtz as well as the guidance provided by managers and colleagues throughout his career. He is especially grateful for the encouragement he received from the chief executive officer and chief operations officer at Hind Management, both of whom provided him with invaluable opportunities for growth and fostered environments where he could thrive professionally.

Mr. Scholtz's entry into the field was inspired by personal experience; after playing high level rugby in his youth but facing injuries that ended his athletic career, he joined his father's construction company. A preventable injury that occurred on-site deeply impacted him, highlighting the critical importance of workplace safety. This event motivated him to dedicate himself to protecting others by promoting proactive rather than reactive safety measures.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Mr. Scholtz has been civically engaged as a volunteer at Old Age Home, where he provides safety-first services and assists residents. He also supports initiatives such as the Open Doors Program at Sudima Hotels under Hind Management, which provides internship opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Happily married and a proud father of one, he enjoys maintaining his fitness routines, spending time outdoors, jet skiing and being with his family and friends.
