ALEXANDRIA, VA, July 08, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- José Vega III has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Chief Warrant Officer José Vega III has built a distinguished 15-year career in the United States Marine Corps, including six years as a Network Engineering Officer. In this position, he is responsible for the design of data systems and network architecture, ensuring the installation of the tactical and enterprise network systems, managing network infrastructure engineering, and troubleshooting for information technology systems across the Marine Corps. His duties also include reviewing correspondence for the Indo-Pacific region, as well as evaluating and revising policies, doctrine, and directives governing technology implementation and retirement.

An equally significant aspect of CWO Vega's career has been his commitment to developing others. He instructs junior and senior enlisted Marines, as well as officers, in network theory and design, implementation, and engineering while providing education and training resources to strengthen technical proficiency throughout the Marine Corps. Over the course of his military service, he has taught more than 200 Marines in military and commercial communications, preparing them for forward-deployed environments and industry-recognized certifications, including the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) examinations.

Prior to his current assignment, CWO Vega served as a Network Engineering Officer with the 2nd Marine Logistics Group from 2021 to 2024. During that assignment, he oversaw network operations supporting more than 8,000 troops, ensuring the reliability and resilience of critical communications systems essential to logistics operations.

Earlier in his career, CWO Vega served as a Marine Security Guard with the U.S. Department of State at the American Embassies in Cairo, Egypt; Budapest, Hungary; and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. In these assignments, he safeguarded diplomatic personnel, facilities, classified information, and secure communications while operating in complex international environments. His overseas service also afforded him valuable opportunities to engage with diverse cultures while supporting United States diplomatic and security objectives.

From 2012 to 2014, CWO Vega served as a Tactical Field Wireman with the 2nd Marine Logistics Group, where he established and maintained field communications infrastructure supporting approximately 150 personnel. He began his professional career in 2010 with American Precision Products as a telephony and Ethernet cable network technician, building the technical foundation that would shape his future military career.

Among CWO Vega's proudest accomplishments is restoring communications aboard a deployed aircraft carrier in the Middle East after a complete communications failure. Working alongside only two fellow Marines, he helped restore the ship's communications capability within four hours, reestablishing mission-critical connectivity during deployment.

Reflecting on his storied international journey to date, CWO Vega attributes much of his success to the influence of his family and his desire to make a difference in the lives of others. Both of his parents served in the U.S. Army, including one who retired honorably. He also credits his sister, who owns a psychotherapy practice, and his wife, who has served 15 years on active duty in the United States Air Force, for their encouragement and support. He is guided by a personal philosophy: if he has changed one person's well-being for the better, he considers his work meaningful.

CWO Vega entered the Marine Corps with two primary goals: to become a Marine Security Guard and to earn appointment as a Warrant Officer. The advancement opportunities within the Marine Security Guard program allowed him to deploy internationally, immerse himself in diverse cultures, and represent the United States abroad. Achieving his second goal by becoming a Warrant Officer expanded his professional and technical expertise, allowing him to make lasting contributions to the Marine Corps' evolving technological capabilities while continuing a career of dedicated service.

Outside of his military responsibilities, CWO Vega remains committed to serving his community. He volunteers his technical and tactical expertise in support of security initiatives, environmental conservation, animal rescue, and community service organizations throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., North Carolina, and internationally. He has also participated in humanitarian missions supporting educational initiatives for primary and secondary school students in Burkina Faso, Hungary, and Egypt while assisting with infrastructure improvements, providing basic necessities, and strengthening international relationships.

In recognition of his exemplary service over the years, CWO Vega has received numerous military honors, including the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal in 2017, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in 2020, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in 2024, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.

Born in Temple, Texas, and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, CWO Vega grew up in a creative family and credits music with playing a vital role in helping him overcome many of the mental and emotional challenges of his formative years. A devoted husband and family man, he enjoys fitness, studying nutrition, and writing and arranging original musical compositions as a balance to his professional responsibilities.

Determined to further expand his horizons in the coming years, CWO Vega intends to retire from military service and pursue a full-time career in primary or secondary education. Drawing upon decades of leadership, technical expertise, and mentorship, he hopes to continue shaping future generations by sharing his passion for music, technology, and lifelong learning as he transitions fully into the educational sector, reflecting his dedication to a life of service.
