Cambridge Who's Who Names Deborah J. Lockhart Professional of the Year in Law Enforcement

JOSHUA, TX, November 26, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah J. Lockhart, Retired Deputy Sheriff Corporal and Detective from Johnson County Sheriff's Office, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Law Enforcement. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Ms. Lockhart, the first female detective and patrol deputy in Johnson County has 25 years of experience fighting crime. During her tenure, she coordinated detective training programs for all officers and organized alarm inspections in the county. In addition, she was responsible for supervising school resource officers, training officers and directing the Are You Okay program. She speaks publicly for local organizations through the Business and Professional Women's Association. Ms. Lockhart began her career as a corrections officer for the Taylor County Sheriff's Office in 1981 and later branched to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office as a patrol deputy in 1990. She was assigned as the crime stoppers coordinator of Johnson County in 2005 and ultimately became a deputy sheriff corporal.

Many awards have been bestowed upon Ms. Lockhart for her unwavering dedication to the community, some of which are the Outstanding Crime Prevention Manager Award from the Texas Chisholm Trail Crime Prevention Association in 2004, the Building for the Future Award from Cleburne Area Business and Professional Women in 1999 and 2000, and the Special Assignment Officer of the Year Award from Johnson County Sheriff's Office in 1999.

Ms. Lockhart is the president of the Cleburne Area Business and Professional Women and is a member of the Eastern Star Temple, the Crime Prevention Association of Johnson's County Sheriff's Office and the Texas Chisholm Trail Crime Prevention Association. She volunteers for the Family Crisis Center and local charitable organizations.
