NEW YORK, NY, September 27, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program DV-2020, more commonly known as the Green Card Lottery, came into existence following passage of the Immigration Act of 1990. What makes the program unique is that then-president George H.W. Bush and congressional leaders understood how important diversity was, and sought to improve it through a program that randomly selected immigrants from underrepresented countries to enter the United States.
The US Department of State Green Card Lottery is held each year, with between 100,000 and 125,000 applications chosen at random, with up to 55,000 Green Cards (Permanent Residency Visas) handed out to immigrants from across the world.
The US Green Card Office is the original Green Card lottery service, offering all the information required to enter into the Diversity Visa Lottery. The organization recently announced their deadline for the 2018 Green Card Lottery as Tuesday, 6th November, 2018. They encourage any potential applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible.
